Even though Infogrames stepped in to back up Atari, it still doesn't look good...

I'm genuinely surprised at this. What kind of money is Atari throwing at a project that failed to a degree that cause such a loss of revenue? It's not like they launched anything but the Flashback hardware-wise, and it was considered a success, even though it was scoffed at by the retro community.

Read the article and it mentions Atari had no blockbuster over the past year, mentioning specifically Driver 3 as a game that helped them last year.
I can't think of *anything* they released recently - anybody else?

Aside from the Flashback (and the upcoming Flashback II), nope, can't think of any major release by them. It's no wonder that it seems to be falling off the face of the earth. Guess that Matrix game didn't help their reputation, did it?

this is a bummer
i liked seeing atari and 3do releaseing games on the consoles -- and generaly i liked thier games
3 atari games i can think of right now that i have that i liked are dead mans hand, apex , terminator dawn of fate
3do whent caput and now mabey atari but i hope not

I know Atari backed a few ps2 games. I think Dragonball Z games had atari's logo, and they made a transformers game awile ago that my kid wanted and I passed on. Everytime I see a new game on TV and then they flash the atari logo I just cringe.

And who can forget that they published Neverwinter Nights? Sure, the game was developed by Bioware, but Atari was the publisher.

Great game - wasn't their supposed to be a followup? Maybe that would've helped.

I'll keep an eye out for anything interesting. They have a booth at Gencon again this year, I always go up and ask if there is anything new for the 2600 coming out. :P I'll probably try and do a roundup of the video game booths if anyone is interested. I'm only going to be there one day, but I'll have my trusty palm pilot at my side...so I can take notes and really bad pictures :)

NWN 2 is supposed to come out in 2006.

NWN 2 will be great I wonder if it will have atari name on it again
also I am looking forward to the dragonball z fighting game out which should have atari on it as well, because the first 3 games have had them.
