I thought this was more appropriate for Video Gaming forum compared to eBay Insanity due to the fact that I want to know why this is in such demand. If mods see otherwise, move it, and sorry for the inconvience.

Someone care to explain? And what's with the Player's Choice logo?

Wow, I'm wondering the same thing too. Why is this thing so much?
because its the original first print, the sticker is on the plastic wrapping and can be easily peeled off.
I guess brand new first print REmake is getting hard to find.

I am inclined to agree, I rarely if ever see a first print non gh edition of REmake
but I do see lot's of the GH REmake so it's probaly the first print is getting alot rarer now and there's a demand for it.

I find its rarity hard to believe. Wasn't it a million seller BEFORE it went PC? I still see them all the time around theses parts...most places dont charge more than 15 bucks for a used one.
A sealed one, however, I could see going for more. I can imagine the appeal of having all 6 Cube RE's unopened.

I am also about 100% positive that it's so high because it's an original game and not the player's choice version. The sticker just easily pulls off the outside of the plastic. No harm done to it at all.

The Blockbuster down the street's got like a dozen RE in the original case for like $12 bucks each. LOL

WTF? Did you guys read the questions for this auction? One guy wrote "Hello, This is Tom and FYI, I'm deaf." at the beginning of his question. What the hell does that have to do with anything??

No idea, but the seller should have listed the condition instead of making people guess, regardless of whether they could hear or not.
There may still be some sealed non-PC REmakes floating around in my area; wouldn't surprise me at all to unearth one in some dark corner of Kmart.

I didn't get that either. What does him being deaf have to do with it?

He did list it, if you look at the "Condition" it says New.

I don't know. It makes the auction twice as funny after you had read it.
Anywho.. yeah, paying that much for the game's nuts. Like alot of people already pointed out it's not as if there wasn't aready a million plus non-PC copies sold or anything.

PC status does not require a million units, it was originally 450,000 but I heard it was lowered from that at some point. The "Million Seller" tag was dropped after the SNES & GBC PC lines.

Pretty good deal for the game, but it has to be sealed and brand new to be worth so much.
The game ended up selling at $71.
