Nintendo is currently sending out invites to people within the company's mailing list (My Nintendo), asking for help in regards to how people are connected to the internet. Anyone interested in the survey can access it by clicking the link below , but you first must be a registered member of Nintendo.com.

The software program is an Animal Crossing clock that runs in the corner of your PC screen. While the clock is running, the software will be performing a test on your internet connection. After ten minutes, the program will display the details that it polled during that time, data which can then be submitted at the end of the test.
Dont worry the test will not submit personal information to Nintendo, or any other company. In addition, you can opt out of sending your network connection data back to Nintendo. Its a wait but it allows to you run other programs. Help out this good cause for Smash Bros online sake @_@
