Does anyone know why it's so hard to find complete gb and gb color games? On Ebay, there seems to be only 20 or so at any given time. With NES, there seems to be 200-300 complete games on Ebay at any given time.
What gives?

Cheap, easy to destroy boxes?

My bet is that these games are more aimed at younger kids, who take less care of these games? I dunno, but I totally agree, so many Tetris carts as well :P

My wife bought me the Super Game Boy player (when it came out) and 4 carts, and I got rid of all the boxes.

I agree with what has already been said, especially the younger kids not caring for them. Also, being a portable system, people often buy the games when they are travelling or not home in general. Therefore they trash the boxes rather than dealing with taking it back.
At least with modern GBA games, the boxes serve very little storage purpose, unlike the cd cases. Most gamers don't really see a need to keep them and they get trashed. :(

Yeah, they're just expendible. I throw all my boxes away just because I don't have the storage to hold them, even if they were folded up.
However, my boyfriend and his brother save all their boxes. They just throw them in a huge cardboard box for, I dunno, sentimental value or something LOL.

And that's what I like with DS boxes. At last, Nintendo goes for storage boxes that'll be useful! :)

Game Boy boxes are harder to locate. I have some Complete Game BOy games and some spare boxes for sale if anyone is interested.

because the boxes flat out suck
There's also the fact that the cartridge itself is much smaller than the box. Why keep a (relatively) big box for such a small cart, especially considering that original GB (but not GBC) games came with their own plastic cases?

I still have all of my gameboy games complete with the boxes and manuals. I just stored them away all this time and forgot about them. You can see pictures of them on my website. www.angelfire.com/games6/davidsclassicgames

The boxes can easily be collapsed flat, and when collapsed provide considerable protection to the manual. Bonus.
The way I see it, either you value and keep boxes or you don't. Since kids barely can keep the games themselves in one piece, I'm not surprised that the majority of boxes are quickly destroyed or discarded.
You adults should know better. It really doesn't take much space at all to store a few dozen collapsed GB/GBC/GBA boxes. But if you really don't care, then you really don't care. Just don't expect top dollar from ebay if you decide to sell.

I didn't take care of my old GB stuff as a kid, but I don't have it anymore either... my aunt has some IMMACULATE old-school games though... :-P
almost all of my GB/GBC/GBA games have boxes and manuals, save Sonic Advance, Super Mario Advance 2 and 3, and Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. I intend to change that, however.

Handhelds in general are harder to get boxes for it seems
I have seen a few of the Mortal Kombat games for the various ameboys go up for sale with boxes but that was due to intensive searching(mini goal i set for myself that i am not achieving :()
I hardly ever see the boxes for any handheld games unless they are brand new or have been in a shop for years.
It could also be due to the fact that most peopel would trash them because the games were meant to be portable.
I know when i was younger i kept all my system boxes to put the games back in when i didn't use them.
The few gameboy games i got as a kid i didn't need the boxes for them because i was going to put the cart in my pocket.(The only game i remember getting new as a kid was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Footclan)
A box was useless.
Wish i had thought otherwise back then...
