Not many. I'd bet on Rez for PS2 though, as well as what's been mentioned above. There isn't going to be the kind of rarity we see in older consoles anymore because the print runs are so much higher than they used to be. It's not the same kind of market it used to be, so low print run games are mostly a thing of the past.

Road Trip for PS2--Found it at Toys R Us in the bargain bin. Haven't seen it anywhere else.

Pro Race Driver for PS2--Haven't seen this one around much. A copy here, a copy there.

Hard Hitter Tennis for PS2--I've only seen it at Best Buy, and it was only $15.

Contra & Suikoden III for PS2--I haven't seen a new copy of either one of these in a while. The Gamestop computer says that both are discontinued. Not sure if it's right, though.

Steel Battalion for Xbox--Come on now, there's no doubt that this one will be hard to come by. :D :D :D

Pulse Racer for Xbox--I don't think this one's even out yet, but I'm guessing that it will only be available in small quantities. It's really taking it up the tailpipe on the review circuit, too.

Super Monkey Ball 2 for GCN--I've noticed that this game isn't common, but not exactly impossible to find, either. Kinda straddling the fence.

Here's my best bets on games that will stay both rare and expensive; as you can see from systems like the PSX, there are a lot of very rare games that can be had for 10-20 and under, while games like Puzzle Fighter sell for a ton because it's somewhat rare and desirable. The same is true of games like Airforce Delta Storm. AFDS is not rare - I've personally sold it 4 times, and passed on buying it another 2 times, and I only go to the stores every other week or so.

World of Outlaws for PS2 - not really popular among our circles, but *very* popular and hard-to-find in certain "less-urban" areas of the country.

Cubivore for GC - I've yet to see a copy, and it's very hard to find even on ebay - definitely the rarest GC game so far. Zoocube is also rare, though not quite so.

Phantasy Star Online GC - rare now, though I suspect they'll release more of it once the broadband adapter is out and common, so who knows if it will stay?

Steel Battalion, as mentioned already - it can't be that common at its price. Going to be very much desired.

DDRMax should hold it's value - all of the DDR's so far have been printed at far undersupply, possibly Konamix excluded. Sky Gunner also. Gradius 3+4 is pretty rare for the PS2 at this stage.

Our Gamestop has Cubivore, and has had it since it came out. We've sold out of it at least twice so far. It's great fun, if you have an interest in bizarre games.

I read in a game magazine that toys r us will have an exclusive xbox game. I don't remember the name because the reviewer said it sucked.

See those all the time (Mega man BNW 1 & 2).

What about "Super Bubble Pop" for PSX and GBA.

It came out 2 weeks ago and i had to hunt to find one on the PXS. I've seen it go on Ebay for 30 and it is a $10 title.

Beyblade on the PSX is kind of rare. I grabbed one for future collecting and haven't see one since.

Steel Battalion most definantly because it is rare and fun.

Sea Blade & Outlaw Golf 2 pack. Anyone else seen one? My local EB had one copy.

REZ, I have been searching so long........

Street Fighter Alpha 3 for GBA. I've only seen it the week I came out, I haven't seen one since.

GIatroo Man. Haven't seen it anyware since i got it. Japanese weirdness usually means low print runs. Also and amazing game.

It is. And I guess there's as much chance of them releasing that here as there is Animal Crossing.

I have senn the Xbox and GBA versions of the game too.I think they will all be rare.

Also VIP for PSX is looking to be rare, and is only $10.

Joe also said In Cold Blood is looking to be rare, glad I got one sealed! :D :hmm:

I wouldn't say VIP is rare. My local Meijer store has about fifty of them in the bargin bin. Must be a regional thing.

Again for whatever reason our circut city has about 3 rows of REZ for PS2. about 30 copies but still for 49.95. They also have tons and tons more of Mr. Mesquito, Metropolis, Mad Meastro, Harvest moon all for $20. These 4 games have their own bargin bin. I have seen tons more PSO for GC aswell(49.95). have have yet to see a broadband adapter for GC

DDRMax is always off the shelf, keep telling me they sell out all the time.

I predict Ninja Assault for PS2 will be a lock to be a rare game (complete). Because it has a pack-in Guncon2, it comes in a large and flimsy cardboard secondary box. That means in ten years NOBODY will have this game complete. Except me! :D

I've noticed Vampire Night is really tough to find. Time Crisis 2 is a bit easier, but not by much.

I found another game NO ONE has mentioned here yet:

RING OF RED for PS2.

I saw it when it came out, "and like that, it was gone."

Just like the original Time Crisis.

Also the Santa game for GBA might be worth a pretty penny. :hmm:

I suggest that Doom II for GBA will be uncommon. That one came and went, and I never caught a glimpse of it anywhere in the city. I'll have to go online, I guess. It's too bad, too, because it's supposedly a much better port than the first Doom GBA cart.

Maybe it would have sold more if they had converted the cacodemons into pokemon?

I thought you meant a Satan game, >) but gamefaqs seems to show it as European-only release.

Apparently the full title is Santa Claus Jr. Advance.

My local Captian video has a copy of cubivore(sp?) for the GCN. Would it be worth getting if i can talk them into selling it? It shouldnt be to hard, only 4 of the games they have are not ps2/psx. They dont like GCN/Xbox for some reason.

As far as Zoocube for the GC goes, I think it was hard to comeby when it first came out, but now I know of seven stores in my area that have it for 19.99 or less (Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, Fred Myers, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Gamestop).

I've yet to see Cubeavore (or however you spell it) at any 'mainstream' store. Only Gamestop has it here.

I'm so convinced that Steel Battaliion will be ultra rare and expensive that I bought one and I'm not planning on opening it. It'll be the perfect centerpiece to an X-Box collection someday. Then again, I'm nutty when it comes to that kind of stuff. I've got ten copies of Indiana Jones for the N64 sitting in a box in my attic. (They were 9.99 at Blockbuster Video and it was buy two, get one free. So I bought them all, plus extra copies of Ogre Battle 64, Razor Scooter, and a few other things. I'm hedging my bets).

That particular set is plentiful in supply in the Far East - the Hong Kong market has tons & tons of surplus sets from Japan for example. In fact, it's straightforward to get the set + full SA2 game for $10 + shipping.

Soon to be rare for the XBox is Kakuto Chojin since Microsoft recalled it. The game stores (EB and Gamestop) pulled all new and used copies immediately. Some of the department and electronics stores have been selling out of them since news of the recall was released.
