im very skepticle buying used games online. also i dont like to buy used games that have alot of wear or stickers on them so....

i was just looking at EBgames.com and noticed that the pre-played games for the new consoles say "includes instructions and original packaging" - has anyone gotten burned by this?

so my questions are :

do the games realy come with the "original packaging and instuctions"?

have you recived any games in bad condition (includeing packaging and instructions)?

if you have strict asthetic tastes

were you generaly pleased with the condition - ie. dirt, stickers, wear

thanks for your input

Everytime an item says it has the box and instructions, I have recieved them.

Once in a while I get one in bad condition, resurfaced disks, lots of sticker and wear. You can usually send these back though.

I've always been pleased, then again, I can always change the case out or something. I'm not anal about condition either, to an extent, but not really.

I've ordered online extensively from both Gamestop and EBGames and have NEVER been burned. Say what you will about them being corporate and greedy and blah, blah, blah but they deliver on time and with less crap on them than you get at an actual retail outlet.

I shop ebgames.com almost everyday. If the item says complete it will come complete. Most of the PS2/GC games I have recieved were either very good or mint. If for some reason it's not complete you can take it to your local EB for a no hassel return. You'll have a less than 10% chance of getting something complete if it doesn't guarantee it.

I have great experiences ordering used games from ebgames.com, they seem to always come very quickly and in excellent shape.

you can bring items back to a store????

i ordered nes and genesis games and the return policy on the recipt said you can only maill the items back

did anyone ever retun an online item to a store?

if you can do that that would be fantastic!! - i could order with out much fear of receiving copies that look like someone took a dump on them

I've returned a game I ordered online in the store, they took it back with no problem. Everything else I got was in excellent condition. (from ebgames.com)

I've always received box and instructions when they indicated they had them.

I once got a game that was pretty scratched up from EB, but I took it to a local store and they had no problem taking it back.

I'd say the NES items depend on the store. Since say mall outlets don't carry those systems any longer it would stand to reason that you couldn't return them to a mall store. But a stand alone that still sells vintage. Why not? Might depend on the manager but it shouldn't be a hassle.

And all EBs will take back the newer games. And always keep your reciepts.

goto the website, and log in they have a record of all your past purchases with a status down to each and every item, all you need to do is to log into the eb site.

EB has at least two warehouses. So sometimes all of your order won't ship together or even on the same day. Also depending on what you bought will change how they ship something. For example they will not mail NES games via Media Mail (always comes UPS for me). On your order status, is it still cancellable? If not then you'll probably get a order shipped email today. If you can still cancel it then that's not a good sign and it means that they probably don't have the item. They'll leave the order up for a while just in case they get it in and eventually cancel it. Something like this happens when 2 people complete their order for the same item at the same time.

On a totally side note it seems that EBgames.com has been preparing for the merger. It's just my theory but I think they've been cleaning out their old stock and have finally ran out. The morning updates have been really poor lately and some of the sections are looking really poor. The PS1 section is now under 600 games when it was at over 900 just a couple of weeks ago. Also the poor DC section is just about dead. Good times are coming to an end I fear.

As an eb employee:

You can return items to a store, no matter the game or item. This is something somewhat new, so maybe last time you placed an order thats why it said you couldnt return it.

Also, the merger wont take place to 2007. Well thats what I last heard. Its been a while since ive worked there. During the summers I work for a company doing IT work. During the school year september - may, I work for EB. Been doing so for 4 years now. FUN! No!

yea the order is still cancelable but i it looks like a get a small charge twice a day for the last 3 days - i hope that means that they keep finding more titles - not some eb theif makeing small charges

the order that i recived yesterday was packed in 2 boxes and one game was packed in a plastic envelope so i recived 3 packages in one day for the same order

i wish i found out about this place awhile ago - ive seen a couple postings on here about the coupons but i have always forgot to take a look - seems like i missed out on some good deals
