i went to the lego store about a week ago, and got MANY green/yellow blocks to make my lego case mod. you can say i experimented very frequently with them, and i found out how to do it. im currently writing a STEP-BY-STEP guide on how to make the case. im still in the works myself, still trying to get my hands on a switch to power the console on and off...basicially the whole case is going to be green. and than im going to have a yellow pixelated zelda triforce on the top. my dimensions are all worked out. im starting to build it,

the only thing is...do you guys think i should glue the bricks together to make it sturdy? im VERY scared that my mom is going to drop it, or something is going to happen to it, shattering the whole project.

and also, would anyone be interested in purchasing a LEGO Case NES from me. i would sell you a NES console with a brand new 72 pin connector, and i would take a custom NES. you would pick your colors or design. if i get into this i would have to know if anyone would be intrested in purchasing one...

yea i most definetly will update with pictures.

but, would you be interested in purchasing a custom made lego NES?

it would be something like this...

all NES' would come with a new 72 pin connector:
grey/black original lego NES: around 60$ shipped
two tone color (you choose the 2 colors):65$ shipped
design of your choosing-70$ shipped

i have to see how much it would cost to buy all of the supplies. (conenctors, nes', and the legos, not to mention my time)

thanks

If you build it correctly you shouldnt have to glue the bricks together....but then i always built my lego toys as solid as a tank.

Make sure that any "seam" is held together with a block above it.

I would have to see the final product first, but I would be interested in purchasing a regular grey Lego NES if it ends up looking as cool as it sounds like it will.

You should take pics as you build it to document the process. That would be neat to see.

Good luck!

Sounds interesting. There seems to be a NES related lego building craze going on here.

Some carts (esp. Game Genie) are very difficult to remove. I would reccomend the glue, unless you can find 2 big grey "Lego panel sheets" to go on the top and bottom...kinda like those green sheets that are used to look like grass or something you can build a lego house on.

Who wants to build me a Genesis Model 1 like this? LOL

Pictures???

Silly question, but why did you choose green & yellow? Why not use grey and make an actual representation of a NES case?

Better still, they now have nice maroon coloured bricks, so a FamiCom case can also be made!

I plan on making a PlayStation and DreamCast case mod at some point, and sticking the console guts into one. I may also make a life-size copy of a PS2 or something.

Saw this some days ago. I dont think the threadstarter is the one who build this because the guy who posted the link isnt the threadstarter. But its a cool project. Post pics if you build a simular on that page :)

I could use a Lego Dreamcast case. The Pumpcast is rotten.
