I have an older style American PS2. It is an early model, so does not have the built in IR receiver.
What I need to know is: Will a UK remote work on the NTSC machine?
Sounds a simple question, but there are a few technicalities... Mainly the fact that I would need an old style remote with the dongle thing. Check, got that as I use it for my UK PS2.
Right, next problem is the boot-up disc. It comes with a disc which I believe is PAL, therefore I believe I am unable to load the necessary data onto the Memory Card... Now I have a plan, but i'm not sure if it will work...
Can I load up the disc in my UK PS2, load the data onto a formatted Memory Card (I use a separate one for PAL games and a separate one for NTSC games), and then simply plug the Memory Card into the American PS2?
Would that work? Or do I actually have to load the disc on the machine I intend to use the remote on?
Is my theory sound?
