For whatever reason certain game francheises always make they're way to the market and end up costing an arm and a leg to get down the road. Which ones would you guys think seem to follow this trend?
I'd say Harvest Moon is a big one, the SNES version is a bitch to track down, especially a complete copy. Then there's the Nintendo 64 version, which isn't really rare but in high demand so it costs a good deal to buy (for N64 standards anyway). And I'm certain the newly released Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life and Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town will have small prints runs and become pretty rare down the road.

It seems that anything with "Ogre" in the title ends up costing you extra $$$ as time passes.

All the Mario Party games (for the N64 and Gamecube) are always being sold (or trying to be sold) at ridiculously high prices at game stores. Every time I go into a Microplay, I see the same old loose Mario Party game sitting there for 49.99.

Would somebody please explain why this series is so expensive? Since they turn one out every year or so, its not like fans of social games have a long time to wait until they have something new to play. And maybe its just me, but it seems like a "diehard" Mario Party fan wouldn't be picking up old games. I'm guessing there is a phantom group who keeps the values on games like this high. They are probably the reason why Scrabble on PS1 is still $20.

The Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior series always seem to be pricey. Also the Armored Core series seems to hold its value well. And anything "Shining".

I wish, I have one that I want to sell but the price is so low that it's hardly worth it. A completed item search of this game on ebay shows it consistently goes between $5-$10 plus shipping.

Kids eat it up. Anything with the word "Mario" in it, drives them (and me) wild.... not wild enough to pay 49.99 for a loose cart though.
Everytime I see a sealed Mario Party 6 for the Gamecube, I think of picking it up and not opening it. Never do though.
