View Full Version : The 10,000+ game club - Question :)

OK, for anyone who has over 5,000 different games, just a quick question. Really, it's easy..... What are they?

The "biggest collection" thread got me thinking again on something that's always REALLY bugged me. So for anyone who has over 5,000 games, do you have any REALLY ROUGH ESTIMATE as to number of games per system? Even off the top of your head? Something along the lines of:

PS2 - 103
Gamecube - 38
A2600 - 559
Intelli - 164
Coleco - 111
PS1 - 55
A7800 - 44
A5200 - 52
NES - 369
Genesis - 479
SNES - 103
SMS - 43
O2 - 46
game.com/microvision/vectrex - 26
gameboy/gba/ds/vboy - 80
sega other - 62
n64 - 32
tg-16/3d0/tgcd/jaguar/jagcd - 48

Edit - I put the real numbers of mine up now that I'm at my main computer

Those are off the top of my head estimates of the number of games I have, and I'm sure they're nowhere near accurate (and I left off systems I have less than 15 games for) Obviously my post-16 bit games is where I'm lacking the most, but I don't collect for those systems. My biggest lack collection-wise would be my SNES collection probably.

I'm just wondering where the hell you get these big numbers :)

I was wondering that too. Its seems as though you would pretty much need complete collections of most of the major consoles in order to have something like 10,000+ games. I guess alot of it could be imports though. That might explain some of it.

I have a really good rough estimate, and I have mostly complete collections of the systems I collect for. I keep tracking of how many new PS2/XBOX/GC games I get, which I have the least amount of...

I can't understand how some of you guys have 450 PS2 games or 200 Xbox games. Most of the games that cost $10-$20 NOW will easily obtained for $3-5 after the next gen consoles are released. Just seems like a waste of money to me.

Most of the guys who have alot of newer-era games don't pay more than $5 for a game. I have no idea where they're finding these, but it works for them.
Cmosfm explained this in the "Who's got an impressive PS2/XBOX/GCN" thread.

I've got just about 1,000 PS2/XBX, and GC games combined. I used to work at a video game magazine, and know some guys in the industry that sell me games upon release dirt cheap....that's why I have that many,,,

err.. you sure about that?

I'm sure I have over 10,000 games but no way do I have 10,000 different. If I think is worth a decent ammount of cash and I have a chance to get another down the road I sell it.

my collection is over 5,000 games i lost track of it years ago and since then i got 3-5,000 more games too so i have started to make a new list of them will take me some time but will post numbers here when i get the time too

i also got a large number of handhelds (over 200 now) and 40-50 diffrent home pc's and 1,000 of games for them too

so far i have found alot of games that are not on the rarity guide so i cant add them to this list but i have started a online list with pictures of them all so one day i will know all the games i got....,
