Update: Both kiosks and the Nintendo neon sign are gone. I got the SNES display and evil_genius grabbed the Genesis one!

Ok it pains me to do this because I'd love to add these to my collection myself, but I just don't have the room for them. I stopped into my local indie game shop and they're selling off some of their display items due to a remodeling. Aside from stuff like showcases there is a full standup SNES kiosk (has about a 27" TV in it) a HUGE Sega Genesis display, has a small probably 13" TV in the top, and 2 large shelves along the bottom. It's probably 4-5 feet wide. Really big. Both are as-is and are $100 each. There's also a Nintendo logo neon sign for $50 but I asked and the guy said it doesn't light up. There were also 2 arcade machines (WWF Superstars and one other), without prices on them so I don't know if they were for sale or not.

The store is Game Craze in on Ellicott street in Batavia, NY.

Here's a map on Google:

Man if I had more room...oh well, hopefully at least they can go to a good home. This is the same place I got my Jaguar Kiosk (http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/K3V/MVC_152S) from. Good luck WNY gamers!

Shoot...I wish I got along with my mother-in-law. She lives in Buffalo. Id be all over those things. That would be quite the toy for the game room, up next to some cabs.

Damn, I'm only about an hour and 20 minutes east of batavia. Too bad I don't have room for them, I'd especially love a Genesis kiosk someday.

I checked Mapquest and I live 6 hours away from them. :( For some reason I thought I lived closer than that to Batavia, but I guess not. Oh well.
K3V, you should pick them all up (they're only $100 each for god's sake) and you should be able to sell them for a pretty decent profit on Ebay.

I considered that. But I didn't want to deal with shipping and I figured anyone who would want them around here is probably on these forums so I gave it a shot.

Damn you guys for not getting these, now I feel it's my duty to go get at least one of them. LOL

Ok so I went back and bought the SNES one. LOL

I wasn't able to get a picture up on the TV but I could hear audio (it has a built-in sound system), so I know that the demo SNES works at least. It has a sticker on it that says it won't work if separated from the unit and that it will reset every few minutes. Pretty cool! I've got it home and in my garage, where I will keep it while I work on getting it back in tip-top shape. The TV appears to be a standard RCA set so hopefully I can find a replacement if it turns out to be bad.

Anyone here have one of these that might be of some assistance in getting it up and running? I'll post some pics up later for sure.

Batavia? Is that over where darien lake is?

I figure that's probably 2-3 hrs from Toronto, though I don't know how I would get something that large back past customs.

Yeah, I can just SEE you trying to explain that to the border people. LOL

Yeah, it'd be the next thruway exit past Darien Lake if you were coming from Toronto.

Good luck with customs if you do end up making a trip down for it ;)

Here is the unfinished product. It works good except the speakers don't work but the sound on the TV does. I'll have to figure out how to get them to work. The game selector works great which I'm happy about. I am cleaning it and painting it up in spots, that is why its all in pieces. But I did have time to see how my stuff would look in the display case. I took the piece off that the system sits on and I found a Jurassic Park cartridge, and a half of an eaten butterfinger, and a quarter. I will post pics of it again when I'm finished. Thanks again k3v.

I just checked the map and I am 8 hours away, sucks. If I was 3 or 4 I would have been making the drive. Someone gave me a heads up about a Nintendo store display like an hour from my house though, just never gave me details. I have to check that thing out.

Everything works great except for the speakers. I will have them working soon. All I need to do now is build holders for the controllers and Game Gear. Also find some better art to hang underneath and on the sides of the monitor. I also am considering putting my games in the display case.

How much would it cost to ship the SNES kiosk to Texas? I'd pay somebody the cost to get it for me and ship it to me, plus money for the labor... assuming the cost was reasonable. Is it still for sale?

They're both gone - I went back for the SNES one. I updated the first post indicating so.

Sweet pics evil_genius! I love how it lights up like that. Glad to hear (almost) everything works too - that bottom part would be perfect for displaying a Genesis collection. Good to see it made it to a good home 8-)

LOL --- Bonus! They didn't charge you extra for the Butterfinger did they?

I need to fix the audio controls on the SNES display too, I need to get a better soldering iron before attempting anything though. I had pics of the SNES one in a different thread but here they are too:

Sweet pics k3v. Let me know how you do with the sound controls in there. Mine are all messed up too. The speakers only make a loud humming noise. Luckily the speaker on the TV works.

The guy does have another SNES thingy. But the monitor has water in it and it looks beat up real good. Also he has a full size Die hard Arcade facing the wall which he doesn't own.

I asked him if he was selling the Altered beast machine. he replied, "I wish I was, it seems to be the only thing people want." But he doesn't own that one either.

The sound controls just need to be soldered onto 8 pins that stick off of the PCB in the back. I can get sound if I wiggle it around on the pins and make contact, but I need it soldered to have a solid connection. Sounds pretty good, too, with the built-in subwoofer.

The small counter-top SNES display has been in there forever - how the hell did they get water in the display? LOL What a mess. My SNES one smells like smoke which is kind of annoying since I'm not a smoker. I gave it a good cleaning and it's better now - I hope the smell just works its way out over time.

The DH Arcade has been there for years too. They never have it hooked up either. The Altered Beast and WWF arcade games are new arrivals, but I guess they're just in there for storage. He said he was happy to get rid of the displays because kids just always want to come in and play them. Kind of the point I guess, but I can understand where he's coming from.

I just got my sound to work. I wiggled the wires and touched them to that blue little box thing and the humming noise went away and then I figured out this white stick looking thing in the pic below is actually a volume switch. My sound works great. I think I might invest in some nice big speakers if I can find em at a flea market.

Cool! Similar to what happened with me. I don't know who thought it would be fun to disconnect the sound in these things but at least all the parts were there...

If anyone can point me in the direction of some good retro looking Genesis art for this thing it would be greatly appreciated.
