Hey,
I was just wondering how good all of you guys and girls actually were at your games.
Do any of you have a high-score on the Twin Galaxies site? While searching to see if this had been discussed before, I saw a post where Sniderman claimed that he held the record for a game (can't remember the game right now).
I would actually have the fifth best time for the speed-run in Super Mario Bros., but I fail to see the point of sending in my tape. If I'm not 1st (and trust me, I'm trying), then I don't think I'll ever send one in. My current best time is 5:20 :(.

I never bothered with that site.. I did hold a world record in F-Zero GX though on another, official site. Someone beat it a few minutes later, but still..

Sniderman holds the record for Atari 2600 Halloween - 2,446,650 (http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=22&pi=5&gi=2502&vi=3780) Took me 6 hours and I rolled the score twice. This beats my old high score where I basically stopped after breaking a million points. I am - to my knowledge - the only person who has ever earned 1,000,000 on this game. Let alone doing it twice. And rolling the score twice in one game with only 3 men? Gravy. :D

EDIT: February 2004, I tried to spearhead a drive to get more DP members to break some TG records. It was pretty fun. Here's a link:

About seven years ago I got some sort of record in Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island. I never even knew about that until it turned up in a small news blurb in my local paper. LOL

I share the high score with four other for Laser Blast. Took me two hours. If you've ever played Laser Blast you can understand why only five people have bothered.

I have tapes for a couple other high scores, but I haven't bothered to send them in. I've destroyed the Penguin Wars record.

I've been meaning to send in some nes scores, but last time I checked the nes referee was in Canada and that's a little more postage than I'm willing to pay just to get my name on the website.

Its not that much?? I guarantee you it would only cost $3.10. Trust me.

I'm pretty sure I could get a high score on ninja gaiden. I usually play the game daily without dying and end up with 300, 000+ total. Doesn't sound very high, but when you use a continue, it is GONE.

There you are! I was actually going to mention you, I didn't even know you posted here :P Yeah, I was going to attempt to go for that record (Contra), but going through it so many times spoiled it for me... I felt like I was starting to think it was a boring game! I eventually just let my extra men expire.

I currently hold no records (that I know of) LOL

I had 2 hi-scores, one for Green Beret (AKA Rush N Attack), and one for International Karate + a few years ago.

When Hall of Mame was still being updated I held the hi-scores for Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, and Super Sprint.

I think I've been knocked off all my perches since then though - it was about 5 years previous.

I've got quite a few first places...nothing really impressive, but I'm proud of them. What I'd really like is for someone to try and beat them (hint hint). :P Just click on the link in my signature to see them.

Just send off 5 tapes worth of new 2600 scores.

Let me know when you get them verified. I sent off some Atari 2600 scores about 9 months ago, and they're still in the queue. :/

I have scores listed on three games. All of them were the high score at one time but they aren't anymore. I plan on retaking one of them sometime soon.

I tried to submit some We <3 Katamari scores, but they don't have a special format for them, so I don't know how to.... :(

I wanted to submit some MAME scores, but they're really finicky with emulators, not to mention they won't update to something that isn't close to three years old.

:/

I will try to beat a few of those, especially Yoshi's Cookie.

I used to have a high score listed on Twin Galaxies, for ColecoVision Q*bert. It's not that my score's been beaten, it just got removed when they changed their policies for submission (it wasn't taped or witnessed by a judge). The current high score listed (default level) is 198,695. My score was 996,320. :( I just haven't had the heart to play it through again and tape it, though I'm still curious to see if it rolls over at a million.

[Edit: I've done Laser Blast too, but I never bothered submitting it. Easy game to 'zone out' on for a few hours. :) ]

I've been able to get the max scores in Rush N attck and Contra without cheating, but I never sent them in. There'a lot of games on TG that I could send in for that I know I could tie or break the record for, but I'm too damn lazy. Yeah, I know, anyone can brag that, but really, I'm way lazier than you.

They recently (well, over 6 months ago) started taking MAME submissions for WolfMAMEPlus .101: http://www.twingalaxies.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6106

Interesting. Perhaps I will be able to break some records in my favorite SNK games.

I doubt it though, my hands aren't as quick as they used to be.
