I've got a question regarding Game Gear boxes. I remember seeing Psychic World at a Kaybee sold in a grey/silver box with a blue grid pattern. Since I know I've seen it released in the standard type of box as well(meaning consistent in style with Sonic 1, not the purple bars box), I got the impression that Game Gear games sold in grey/silver with a blue grid pattern were imported overstock from other non-NA regions. Is this presumption even remotely accurate? Are there games that were only released in the US with the grey grid style? Thanks.

Yeah, as far as I know, they grey-boxes are all European copies.

You are 100% correct about the overstock dumping. Sega of Europe dumped a lot of GG games in the US and KB was the largest retailer to get involved. There were also a few distributors that had them but the only non-US release I remember stocking at the time was Pengo.

I actually bought a grey-grid copy of Ax-Battler from Kay-Bee back in about 1994 or 1995. It's interesting to hear that's what was going on.

Thanks for the info. I mainly ask because I've been seeing a lot of these and passing them by. Good to know I don't have to dash around town and scoop all of these up.
