I caught this over at Planet Xbox360. "Apparently" these marketing brochures for the Xbox 360 leaked onto the Internet today. They look nice... and they contain a few pieces of information we were unaware of. Enjoy!

Remember, to get the most out of your 360, you’ll need:
Xbox 360 Standard: $399.99
Gold Xbox Live Subscription: At least $49.99 (Likely more.) Wireless Networking Adapter: $99.99
Second Wireless Controller: $49.99
Two Play and Charge Kits: $19.99 times two.
Total: $639.94
$639.94!?!?!?

yeah, but if you already have a live account and network adaptor, those technically don't count.

Well, if you don't play consoles online, knock off $150.
Consoles online, no point if you have games like Battlefield 2 for the PC already.

Why would you need to have a wireless adapter to get the most out of your system? Wired > Wireless

Um, no. While I agree BF2 and other FPS are superior on PC, I'm a huge fan of 2D fighters, which xbox live lets me play online. I can't do that on PC unless it's emulators (which from my experience really suck online)
You also can't play great racers like Forza, Outrun 2, PGR2 (And of course PGR3, and whatever other next gen racers) online on your PC.
edit: Thanks for the pics.

And that's something Sony and Nintendo don't do right?

Those are some pretty nice images. I've obviously seen pictures of the 360 before, but I still can't get over how small it is (looks) compared to the origional Xbox.
They seem to be milking their accessoriess to death.

^^ oooooooooooooh ok. It makes sense now. At least they are giving us an option of prices, that's kinda cool. I am getting it, most likely the wireless controller one. That wavebird has ruined all wired controllers I have, which is most :P :P

And no firm clue on what those games would be at release time, anyways. I love how that brochure claims that the launch will be the best ever.
Two words of rebuttal, Microsoft: Super Nintendo.

The DVD REmotes will only be included in the first batch of systems. Sort of like how SOny gave away the Spider-man 2 movie in the PSP releases.

I believe every Dremcast shipped with a Demo GD as well unless you bought one of the ones bundled with the Sonic or Sports games. In the US anyway.

I'm dying to know if they extend the "backwards compatibility" so you can network and play original Xbox games with the 360. It says you can chat with people, no matter what console they are on (Xbox or Xbox 360)... does this mean I can play games with them too? It would be a really nice feature, because I could have Halo 2 LAN action at home with my other Xboxes, or play with my friends even if they haven't yet sprung for a new system. That would just add to the longevity and usefulness of what I already have.
I'm hoping they come out with some bigger hard drives sooner than later. 20 GB fills up quick.

I thought the 360 was going to have hard drives you could "swap out".
Honestly, I am kinda glad MS listened to customers and designed thier new console after the gripes of gamers and also taking cues from what XBOX owers were doing with thier systems. (if that "swap out" thing still holds true)

You can buy the HD seperately, so I'd assume you can swap them out.

Not yet... don't worry though, some modchip guy in China will get it running after the dev kit gets leaked.
I do miss the days when I got a game and two controllers right out of the box; seems like they were promoting socialism. :)
I wonder if the old Xbox controllers will be compatible. Then again, I wonder if there'll be any games I can use my arcade joysticks on.... seriously, the current gen consoles have thrown us old schoolers a 2D bone here and there, but I wonder what the 360 will wind up with in that area.

Of the current generation, there're many gamers that missed out Xbox completely, MS might be targeting those with 360 Delux package at launch, one system that gets all. For me there're still a lot of Xbox games I've yet to finish.
Assume you don't play online, some may just get the package with a few cheap Xbox games plus maybe one 360 game. One thing for sure, everyone, if not most will try to get the delux package at launch, they'll sell out quickly, the rest will be forced to get Core Unit if they're desparate.
