Retro Atari plug and play Q's

OK, I got the Atari plug n play TV games joystick because it had ADVENTURE, something I played constantly back on my 2600 years ago. Remembering that this was the first ever Easter Egg, I ran to get the dot out of the Black Castle and high tailed it over to the border screen to see the name of the Warren Robinett...........

Now granted I only paid 8 bucks for this plus 4 AA batteries, but I was sorely tempted to take this back for a refund.


Because JAKKS Pacific removed WR's name and replaced it with a smalllllllll font saying "text". :hmm:


WTF? O_O

Anyone know the story on this?
Atari getting revenge because WR snuck that in years ago?

Any other of the Plug N Play games altered like this?
This is my 2nd PNP and they're 2 for 2 so far, I won't be buying any more no matter how much they're marked down. The other is the C-64 one and the stick feels so wonky I couldn't get Impossible mission to play right.

All I could think of was "God I miss my old WICO bat wing joystick"

This was talked about in depth over at Atari Age (http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php)when the thing was released. And yeah, it was lame.

Anyway, now that the Flashback 2 is released (check your local Walmart), you're better off with that. It has the original Adventure the way you remember it and also has Adventure 2 :) Not to mention you can use your old Wico bat wing joystick on it if you want to ;)
