- Gold mario statue (japanese promo for stores) $260

I guess your battery died. :(
I wonder how much that nintendo M8 model went for. It had a NES demo ROM in it that I don't think anyone else has.

The display unit went for $360 I believe. DarthVader (from the boards) can confirm this since he won it....

I don't believe there was any unreleased protos in it though.

Other auction highlights
- Magiccard selling for $100 bucks. It was in a mystery box.
- Me winning a River Patrol for $310 in minty mint condition

I cannot still believe I won Magiccard. For everyone who wants to see it, I have already added it to the gameroom where it will reside right now...

The guy sitting behind me said "Holy *@$# that's a thousand *&$%ing dollar game!"

Seriously, congrats on that. :) Didn't win anything myself as I was already out of money, anyway...ah well. Next time. ;)

Yea man, congrats! What goes around comes around.... and you putting that money up for donation ended up paying off.

I looked at my dad and was like I think I should bid on the mystery box, I doubt they would make 2 crappy ones. I even called it being a rare 2600 game (although I thought it was River Patrol). But $100 bucks is a little steep for me without knowing what it is. Either way man, congrats.

How does the auction work anyways? Do you give your things to the auctioneer, and do they just put it on auction? Or do you have to register an item first, or what?
Does CGE get a cut of what the item goes for?

There's a table set up an hour before the auction where you hand over your stuff to be auctioned. If it's crap, it gets rejected, but if it's deemed auction worthy, you get a little stub with a number and a description of what it is that you're selling.
After the auction, you get your cash, and fork over your $2 (or more if you choose) per item donation to special olympics.

Simple.

I picked up a Vectrex bundle of (all complete and in pretty good condition) Star Castle, Animation, Melody Maker, Space Wars, Art Master (with pen) and Pole Position for $250. A good deal I think, props to whoever put it up for auction.

Congrats man! :)

The only item I bid on was the DS Zelda trailer, but I let it go. John was very entertaining though and it was fun just to see which items got the big bids...

Cheers,
Ben

Sonic "Innoventions" lab coat from Epcot Center $120

Sweet! Who won it? And what size is it?

I've got one of these that is a Medium. It's a really slick thing from the launch of the Dreamcast. At $120, it's a pretty good deal too in my opinion. I doubt more than 100 of those were ever made, and probably no more than a few handfuls ever made it out of Disney alive. It's one of my favorite collection peices...
