Does anyone still play this GC game?

I must admit, I'm REALLY late to the party but I just got back into the GC again and I picked this up the other day for a really good price.

So far, I'm loving the game and it's really addictive. I made sure I woke up just after 9:00am this morning so I could sell a few more items to Tom Nook and finally pay off my first house. I'm thinking over the next months I'm going to dedicate a LOT of time to this game. LOL

What's up with the e-Reader compatibility? I have a GBA with the e-Reader add on, but no cable to connect to the GameCube. Is there anything added on the game if I link with the e-Card Reader? I know there were cards made but I'm unaware of any added material.

Am I the only one playing this game right now (late, I might add)?

Discuss. :embarrassed: :)

I love this game and play all the time. There is a ton to do, even once you finish your house. Linking with the GBA allows you to work on Able Sisters designs on the GBA, Play Nes Games on the GBA, and do an island mini-game. Using the e-reader, you can unlock new patterns, town tunes, and items! Ypu have to have an Animal Crossing e-card to do this. They stopped production recently, but you should still be able to buy some. If you really want to take full advantage of this game, order the back issues of Tips & Tricks That have the Animal Crossing almanac. You'll learn when to catch what, how to clean your town, and how to make an Ozzy Osbourne pattern!

I still play every now and then. Probably once or twice a week. I just picked up a Ereadere and have been playing around with that. ($2 at gamestop used). I just recently demolished one of my house to start again.
Although this game is the reason Nintendo pissed me off. They still to this date have not said that you can or cant get LOZ, Super Mario, ect with or with out an AR. I don't like using the AR I have heard bad stories of it ruining peoples towns, so I never did buy one. But I would like to have LOZ in my collection. If nintendo would just come foward and say these games are just left over code and are unable to be unlocked in a legit way fine....
But this was one of the reasons I bought it at launch.

GameFaqs has some good FAQs for this game, event schedules, fish and bug locations and times, etc.

Yeah, I still play. It is really fun. All of the NES games that are in the game can be transfered to the GBA except Punchout and LoZ (Through code disc).

I got it when it first came out and I played for about over a year before finally losing interest. I'm definately getting the DS version this fall. :D

If you're worried about messing up your town data with an AR, just start a new town on another memory card, hack the game out, then leave it on the ground. Then have your other character take the train into your hacked town and pick it up! One of my friends created a town specifically for hacking the game.

If I added all the time I've spent on Animal Crossing, it would probably make me sick. I've spent days on this game but did lose interest for some reason. I paid off my house and everything so didn't know what else to do. I do look forward to the DS version.

BTW, you can use a link cable from your GBA to your GC to get to the Animal Crossing Island. If you already have the GBA, it is definatley worth picking up a link cable to get to the island! :)

I've had it for several months now and try to play a little each day. I almost have all the fish and bugs, but need a lot more art work for the museum.

The island is a great deal, once I figured out how to make tons of money from it that is.

I got when it first came out and stopped playing about 8 months later. I started playing again about two months ago. I just played this morning, actually.

2 bugs, 3 fish to go.

Read and be spoiled: I actually used a pitfall for the first time today. Though I've had pitfalls for a while and have known what they were for, I just tended to save them. I used it on the snottiest animal in the village, who happens to be a pig named Sue E.

Yeah, I've been trying to get the guys and gals from the Working Designs message board playing this game. It's a great time waster. It is not a deep game, there just is a lot to do!

When I attended DigiPen, it was all the rage among the console camp (the school was separated by culterul dividing lines - one side was console gamers, the other side was computer gamers). Everyone was trying to get everyone else to play the game, visit their towns, join them in events, et cetera. It really was Animal Crossing mania at DigiPen!

I thought they were all crazy. How could such a simplistic, non-goal-orientated game posess so many dedicated gamers?

I found my answer after I recently purchased the game. The local K-Mart had no other interesting budget games, so I went with Animal Crossing. A few days later, I have now bought my friend the game so we can visit each other's town, my sister and I regularly play it for hours every day, and I bought an e-Reader just for this game. Sure I can make up some justifications, but *I* know I spent $50 on a "budget" title.

I got the game a few weeks ago. It was interesting for a while, but really, it just isn't for me. It requires too much 'you must be here at a particular time'. Too repetitive for my taste.

I loved it. However, when I finished building my house, I kinda felt like I'd run out of things to do. I collected most of the stuff for the museum, and enjoyed the nonlinear style. I will probably buy a DS when it comes out for it.

Animal Crossing was the reason I got my Gamecube (and my Gameboy Advance SP) in the first place. My girlfriend and I play it daily and I just paid off my last upgrade to my house. I don't think I'll tire of it anytime soon!

I usually try to keep a mental note of what time and date I last played, and then set my Gamecube clock according to that, I used to play legit when I first got it, but now I adjust to days that I missed indetween playings.

I don't own a AR or I probably would of did the second town trick. My main complaint is that nintendo has never come foward and said you can only get them with the AR, or they were going to be E-reader cards that we never got around to making. (mario bro's and ice climbers were available in series 4)
