I just landed a copy of SimEarth for the Turbo Duo for $10. :D I think its complete, but it came in a dual cd case and the front half is missing the plastic insert. The paper cover insert is sort of loose in the case. The rear insert looks to be the standard opaque black plastic. Does anybody else have this complete and did it come with the plastic insert in the front? Oh geeze, it doesn't come with 2 disks, does it? Thats a scary thought, although it would explain the cheap price.
I have the game, although I didn't buy it new. It's a double-case with one CD and a thick manual. I suspect the thick manual is the reason for the double-wide case. I'm not sure what you mean by "plastic insert."

Sorry for the confusion, it probably has a proper name, I'm just not sure what it is. In a standard double CD case, there are five plastic parts. The center part (black plastic for every game I've ever seen) is one. The next two are the front and back covers (clear plastic to show the paper inserts). The final two are the plastic inner "inserts" which are clear on PS1 and Dreamcast games. This is the part with the spindle that the CD resides in. It must be snapped out to allow any access to the paper front or rear insert.
My SimEarth has a rear plastic "insert" that secures the CD and is black plastic. However, it does not have a front plastic "insert" and the paper cover art isn't really secured in place by any means. I wanted to know if this is normal and the way it shipped or if I should replace it since this piece is a standard component of jewel cases.

Yours is missing a piece. A few of the Duo games shipped in these double CD cases even though they are single CD games.
You are just missing the CD tray from the front half.
