I got a spare Genie, loose, but I have never even seen one of those things before... then again, I havent seen a lot of things

They're relatively rare. Galoob offered them for free after they learned that people couldn't use Game Genies as-is in their top-loaders. The PCB board on the Genie is too thick to fit without REALLY jamming it in there; possibly damaging the Nintendo slot.
