I think this is topical enough to be here...

I was floored the other day when I went to see the 40 Year Old Virgin at the theater. Not just from the really funny movie, but from the fact that at some point during the movie, two of the characters are playing a game on the Xbox (at least, it is assumed to be an Xbox because we saw one earlier in the movie with two wired controllers hooked up). When they are playing during this one scene, of the two guys one of them is playing using this guy's chair, and the other is playing with what appears to be a NUON controller.

It is supposed to be an Xbox controller, I guess, but I am about 95% sure it was a HPI Stealth controller ( http://www.nuon-dome.com/stealthre.html ) The HPI logo and red buttons are visible during the scene, and the controller is the same color as the link one. It does not seem to be an N64 controller.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and if I got it right, or if it really was just an N64 controller...

They do this a lot in films / Tv. They show a certain console (Such as a N64) sitting by the Tv, but the people are playing using PlayStation or Mega Drive controllers... Weird.

probably figured they would use a NUON controller so nobody would have a clue exactly what system they were playing. I have the logitec NUON controller.

Well I was planning on seeing this movie so I will have to keep an eye out for this. Thanks for the heads-up, Dan. 8-)

Aren't they playing Mortal Kombat on the N64 in the movie as well. My friend called me up and said "You have to see 40 year old virgin, because there is video games in it"
After I rolled my eyes, I asked him which ones.
He definitely has no idea what a NUON is though, so he wouldn't have told me anything about that.

Yeah, they were playing the newest mortal kombat game. There is a PSX in the backround of the scene with controllers plugged in, but it did look like that NUON controller big time. Plus, it was a damn funny movie.

Yes, it was a really funny movie... Seeing that just made me do a double take. I'm used to seeing older consoles hooked up and played with wrong controllers / games. The best example of this was probably in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you can see Mike TeeVee with an Atari 2600 woodgrain hooked up, but when it shows what he is playing, he's got an Unreal Tournament style game playing on it. I wish *my* 2600 could display graphics like that! I'd toss my Xbox!

But I was surprised just because it seemed to be a NUON controller, which is not exactly a controller associated with gaming by most people. It's also one of the more uncommon NUON controllers, so why they had that instead of using a Playstation controller or an Xbox controller (like I said, you can even see the Xbox with controllers earlier in the movie) was a surprise to me.

Maybe it was because the Nuon controller where dumped cheap some time go.

Oh yes and I aslo saw it a lot on TV that screen, controller, system aren't the same ones. I once saw Windows on a iMac or iBook some years ago.
