It's suppose to be an ad for a gaming chair. I see these in stacks everytime I go to Circut City. They don't appear to be a hot seller. But the picture never fails to crack me up... in a nerdy sort of way. (:

Ha ha ha. Maybe they just have 3 TVs set up.

The girl on the right is kinda goofy looking, she's wearing those stupid rings that are all the rage now, the big guy in the middle's pants are too short, his head is shaped like the Joker's from the old Batman cartoon, the kid on the right obviously doesn't want to be there, his shoe is untied, and they're playing video games in a infinite abyss of whiteness.

It looks to me like the guy in the middle has his controller backwards and it looks like the one on the left has a n64 controller and the one on the right is a xbox controller. Great Marketing dept!!!!

That reminds me, at the Wal-Mart auto department, they have these cigarette lighter power inverter things (an AC outlet for your car)... the picture had two kids, one holding a PS controller, the other holding an SNES controller, an Xbox sitting with them, as they were playing an SNES game on the TV.

What he said...

First thing I noticed was the backwards controller, then the N64. (I couldn't peg the X-box controller, though.)

His shoe isn't untied, that's the cord from his controller going over his foot :)

This is just another great image in the long series of "why did they use this picture?" gaming ads

Ah, I stand corrected...it's funy how I started looking for minor things when I should have gone straight to the controllers. Oh well, I'm an idiot. I'll take my flogging now, please.

Reminds me of when EQOA was coming out for the PS2 and there was a print ad that had pictures of gamers staring at tv's (like the picture was taken from behind the glass in the tv) and EVERY 'gamer' was holding a Gamecube controller.

I don't think that's a backwards controller. It looks like a Dreamcast controller, to me. You know, the ones where the cord comes out of the bottom?

I thought that too as well, but the positioning of his hands arent correct. It looks like his fingers are resting on what should be the bottom of the controller.

I really think that whatever controller the guy in the middle has, he is definantly holding it upside down. I looks like his pointer fingers are on the grips, like it is some odd colored PS2 controller. If he was holding it correctly it would be pretty unconfortable to hit any sort of R1, R2, L1 L2 buttons. Ha Ha what a goofy ad. LOL

It makes you wonder if the marketing people intentionally make these errors. My thinking being, it causes the people "in the know" to scrutinize the picture, notice the mistake, and then point it out to their peers. The resulting attention increases the products exposure. Nah, maybe that's giving advertisers too much credit.

Those chairs actually look kinda interesting. Not that i can afford the shipping of them to Europe, but out of curiousity, for how much are they being sold?

Maybe. I know that when a product is advertised if the ad ends up being goofy/EXTREME or just stupid I lose respect for that product and when I point it out to my friends they feel the same way. Honestly those chairs are not worth what they want for that anyways.

30 bucks is about all I would pay for them and no they are not comfortable to me. maybe for someone who weighs a hundred pounds or less then those cushions would be decent enough to guard you from the hard plastic.

The only thing i see wrong is that poor kid having to use an N64 controller. :(

I think the dude in the center is just goofing off in that picture. I'm getting paid to model this stuff why not have fun?

The guy is holding the Xbox controller upside down (Red colored Mad Catz model)

and the girl has the biggest horse teeth since Mr. Ed...yet manages to hold the Xbox controller correctly...gee maybe blondes aren't that dumb after all?

That picture is basically the visual definition of what being a head honcho of a corporate entity is and what they think is hip and trendy.

That said, NOTHING will ever replace the Game/ Disc Doctor's original packaging that had the kid playing N64.

I STILL can't get my N64 cart resurfaced correctly. LOL

Yeah, Best Buy had some chairs like those set up in front of a TV with Madden 06 set up. They're pretty comfortable. Although I can't imagine myself buying one anytime soon.

Anyway, that picture is very weird. That girl definetly looks very goofy, there's the whole upside down controller thing, and the other kid looks like he's having a horrible time.

Seriously, look at that kid on the left, just look at him. Notice how his back is flat against the chair, he's not even pretending to enjoy himself. Look at his feet, see how he's kind of tilting his shoes to one side? I've never seen any one do that unless they were very nervous. His face, I know that face, as does any who's ever been forced to do something by their mother, the 'soon, soon your blood shall be spilled and my soul restored by your death, mhahahaha!' look, yep, I've seen that face before.

I don't think I would purchase one. Maybe if someone gave me one I would take it. But also if you have pets, there is a chance they would sleep on it and get it all dirty.

Sort of reminds me of the chair that the guy has in "40 year old virgin." I'm not sure why, but it does.

Ah, quality advertisement. I think this should start a trend, whenever we see really bad mistakes in advertisement, we should post a pic if we can get one. It's worth the laugh.

I'm gonna try to get a picture of the old artwork that decorates the higher parts of the walls in the RZone at my Toys R Us, cuz there's a picture of a kid playing a GBC, but it's inverted, the A and B buttons are on the left and the D-pad on the right, the Worm Light is plugged in on the right instead of the left as well (yet the words GameBoy Color underneath the screen aren't backwards...weird how they did that)

Another funny thing to point out is when generic accessories are falsely advertised, like the Intec brand GameBoy Advance to GameCube link that states you can "Use your GameBoy as a controller!" and "Play GameBoy games on your TV!!" Or the Majesco wireless link that "Works on hundreds of games!"

Since I work in video game retail, I see the worst. It amuses me though

Is there a web site devoted to ads like this anywhere?

If there isn't, there should be.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose of the chair with the fact the girl is leaning forward and not actually sitting in the chair fully? Just a thought....

I thought marketing people did things like this to show no type of brand loyalty or promoting of another companys products, for example if they all had xbox pads and you saw the add on a billboard or in a magazine, you may be lead to believe it was an add for xbox which is not what the makers of the chairs want. Why give another company free adds eh?

LOL That dude in the center with the goofy grin has the controller backwards.. :D x_x ..Probably has never held a gaming controller ever!! :/

I always see these chaors in Best Buys and Circuit City...I don't like them as it seems everytime I see someone sitting in one in the store they are leaning forward. X_x ..
I'd lve to have one of these with a steering wheel and pedal attachement..
