Not dual shock....this is regarding the flightsticks.
I recently aquired an analog joystick and a dual analog joystick for the original Playstation. Does anyone know of games that support either joystick? Post them here, lets make a list!
Single Analog Joysitck:
???
Dual Analog Joystick:
Ace Combat Series
Armored Core Series (please verify)
Descent
Descent Maximum
Mech Warrior 2
Robotron X
Queen Of The Felines

I think the Assault game that appears on one of the Namco compilations supports it as well.

Does anybody know about Cybersled? Based off the Arcade counterpart, it should use the dual sticks, but I'm not sure.

Just a small warning (sorry if it's off-topic). I also have one of those dual flighsticks, but they do not work on a PS2! I was planning of getting rid of my PS1 but it seems i have to keep it around a little longer...

I'll bug Dangerboy, he'll have a better idea than I. (I dont have any flight sticks) to have really paid attention.

You can add Descent to the dual sticks list, as I recall.

Does Descent Maximum work as well?

I recently made a suggestion in the rarity database forum regarding this kind of thing. When I get a new peripheral, I'm always curious as to which games it works with. These "which games work with so-and-so controller" threads pop up fairly regularly and I think it's about time that the online database becomes a better resource to answer these questions. Maybe there are some reasons as to why this can't be done. Maybe this kind of useful feature is beyond the scope of a mere rarity guide.

Hey Sisko,
Techincally....ANY Dual Dhock game should work with the stick...I recall controlling Lara Croft one day just for a fluke.
As for games that show the actual icon:
- Burning Road
- Bogey Dead 6
- Mechwarrior 2
- Colony Wars
- Formula One CHampionship, 98, 99
- Descent Maximum
Among others.
Mr. Smashy: We were discussing this in the guide forum a while ago, and for whatever reason it would actually kick the database all out of whack. Maybe in a future revision, but for now it doesn't seem possible.

All these games for the Dual Stick, but none for the single.
Were there any games that were specifically designed around the single stick?

Sure. Every PSX Game out there. :)
Single stick mode is digital mode...in other words, the left Stick becomes the basic DPad on the controller, and the center console buttons become your action buttons, as if you were holding a non-analog controller.

Are we talking about the same thing?
The single analog stick is made by Madcatz and is similar to the dual sticks.....only with one stick. I'd take pictures, but its boxed away somewhere.

I can verify both descents(god its so much fun) and mechassult 2, which isn't really that great. Armored core does not have the label on the back of the case and I can't figure out how to work it even though vidgame.net says it works. Maybe he got mixed up with mechassault?

Sisko:
Oops...didn't even know Madcatz made a single stick one.

I know there are some cases where this doesn't work. For example, Descent will not work with a Dual Shock controller. It has to be either the old dual analog control pad (predecessor to Dual Shock), or the dual analog joystick. Also, the old dual analog control pad isn't compatible with a large portion of current games. However, every dual analog joystick game should work with the dual analog control pad, since it specifically has a mode to emulate the joystick. The buttons just might be a bit awkward. Heh.
