Alright I picked up this great big thing today and am having trouble getting the sound to work. I have made a diagram explaining what I know about this little board. This little board is for the sound. The genesis plugs into it and then plugs into 2 different speakers for the sound. But all I get is this loud humming noise.

Now the plug coming from the back of the genesis (the av cable plug) has 2 different heads on it. The on end is going to the back of the television and the video works good. The other end plugs into this board.

Any help is greatly sppreciated.

1. This plug is coming from the back of the Genesis and is for the sound.
2. This plug is a transformer and plugs into a power strip.
3. and 4. These are speaker wires running the 2 different speakers.

When Everything is turned on is makes a loud humming sound. I know I have ehard this sound before while hooking up car stereo but can't remember what it meant.

have you got the right power cable?
you can replace that whole amp board with any amp.
have you tried plugging that grey cable from the genesis into a tv or something else? it might not be that board, most likely is though.

You could try and connect any line out (from CD player, tuner etc..) to the board and see if it works.
