View Full Version : Spending more time on ebay looking for a deal than gaming?

Lately, I have been feeling that I spend more time on ebay (and/or the B&S forum) looking for the next great deal than actually playing the games that I have found in past deals.

Anyone else finding themselves spending more time looking for games than actually playing them?

thats pretty much the way it usually works for me. i like hunting for video games. i like playing them too, but i'm pretty sure i like hunting for them and collecting them more. they're like baseball cards that you can actually do stuff with.

Yeah...thats the way I have been...the last 3 years. Looking for the deals and not much play. :)

I find myself right now being 95% collector and only 5% gamer due to the bulk of my collection being cluttered up in the corner of my bedroom while my Game Room is under construction. The last game I played was about 30 minutes of Devil May Cry, I just got it and never played it before I'm not very good at it yet I was having a HELL of a time killing that big lava spider in the beginning.

I find that once summer hits I’m spending less time playing and more time out looking. Gota love the Garage Sales. Once winter hits it’ll be back to the gaming mostly playing the Xbox (can’t wait for the 360).

Always! 8-)

How else are you suppose to find rarity 10s on ebay, if you're out gaming!

Yes, and that's the way I like it. It's been like that for years for me now. I don't always have the time to sit down and play a few levels in a game, but I always have time to check ebay for a game i'm looking for. Sometimes I am just not in the mood to play games, I would rather just re organize my collection.... put section in alphatbetical and stuff.

I am glad to know that I'm not the only one that does things like this :)

The way I see it, I'm stocking up while I can. At the moment, I living for free- staying with my aunt as I just moved to this city, free board, free meals, no car payments etc... I get to bank every penny. But that's all about to change when I get my apartment, (soon) all the money will go out the door and I'll be lucky to get a boxed NES cart once a month.. so I'm collecting games and stuff while I can, so when "real life" sets in I'll have plenty of games to play.

This has always been the case for me. I probably spend roughly 3-4 hours a day looking for games, and play them for 30 minutes (if I'm lucky).

I'm about 2 hrs on eBay doing my game hunting and 20-30 mins of game time. When the girlfriend is out I spend the entire evening gaming sometimes !

I play when I get a chance to (which is very infrequently) but always seem to be hunting for the next system/game. I've realized that I probably play more on the go (GBA) than I do on all of my home systems, combined. Craziness. @_@

Yea, I used to spend more time hunting through eBay than playing the games I purchased, then finally realised I wasn't really having that much fun.

Now I'm hardly buying anything because I have so many games to play/finish.

I just received The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past for the GBA in the mail today. I also received the Kirby Canvas Curse DS game so I'm hoping these will keep me busy enough to not spend all my cash on ebay.

However, I just browsed the B&S forums here at DP and have now committed $35 to ArcadeAntics for three Gamecube games.

Boy, I'm a mess!

It always seems like I spend more time looking for games than I do playing them. I can't figure it out.
