I've been hearing grumblings about this for some time. Looks like the announcement's been made:

Yup, a videogame expo specifically for the public in LA the weekend after CGE. Good? Bad? Anyone interested?

Isn't this the one that's essentially a "general public" version of E3?

Reading the description on the official website, it does sound like a public ed of E3. Therefore, it isn't in direct competition with CGE, even though the timing isn't really ideal for anyone who's a classic and modern gamer at the same time (unless they live in the Vegas or LA area). Anyway, if I can't afford going to Vegas for CGE, then I certainly can't afford going to LA!
