I bought a Gamegear last night. Picked it up at a thrift store, $25 with an adaptor and Sonic 2. It's in incredible shape, hardly any scratches at all!
I never played one back in the day, and I have to say, after trying it out when I got home, I was pretty disappointed. The blurring was terrible, the colours were all washed out, and the resolution was not sharp at all.
So, I think I'm going to get rid of it.
Anyone else feel the same way, or does anyone like this system??

I didn't like the Sonic games for GameGear, but I thought the system was pretty good. I agree that the blurring and big sprites make Sonic pretty tought to play. I didn't really care for the series on GG. If you like platformers, try some of the slower ones, like Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. The Streets of Rage games were pretty fun. If you like traditional RPGs, Defender of the Oasis is fun or if you prefer tactical RPGs, try Shining Force or Crystal Warriors. What types of games do you like?

I was fairly dissapointed with mine. I got it for £17 with 10 games and a carry case from a friend.
Puzzle games like columns and devilish are fine on it but adventure games like Sonic are far too blurry to play. I don't play it too often. The longest I've used it for was 3 hours on columns on a car journey (I've got a car adapter for it).

I thought it seemed familiar.

I haven't played my GG in a while, but I had mine back in the day. To be honest I don't remember any blurring or bad colors, I remember it being 10x better than a Game Boy (just because I had a real problem seeing the classic game boy's screen). I do remember a little blurring while playing sonic and going really fast, but I thought it was a cool effect. LOL
