Oh this is funny,I was on the official Sega Sonic USA Website looking at the birthday cakes that people sent in and a saw this: http://www.sega.com/sonic/community/fanart/gallery.php?image=2005_cake/cake_fanart_sonic_01.jpg
If im not mistaken Sonic 1,3 and Sonic and Knuckles are pirate carts(easy to see that on Sonic and Knuckles). Anyway do you think Sega missed this or they dont care?

I'm not sure about the others, but Sonic 2 is an import, not a fake.

They're all pirate copies, aside from the Sonic 3 which I'm not sure about.

Sonic 1 - no console or company ID; asian lettering on top of cart despite cart being the Western shape

Sonic 2 - cleverly done. Normal Asian version cart label, Western shape cart.

Sonic 3 - ?

Sonic & Knuckles - well-known pirate variant of the game. Has no lock-on capability, is plain-vanilla Sonic & Knuckles inside.

SA:DX, Sonic Heroes: Blatantly copied, horribly resized and modified labels.

Look at the Sega Logo on Sonic 3,its mostly yellow.

There's a horribly misplaced Spinball behind the cake, too.

The Sonic 3 cart is also a pirate, it has JMD-style indents while clearly being a US cart.
