i also have a question pertaining to JAP games. i knwo they are compatable with the US DS, but they are in japanese right? i dont see the point of buying a JAP DS cart, unless your japanese of course...

Some of the more unique games may have no chance in hell of coming here (Jump Superstars & Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, for example), so some people import. Jump Superstars, being a fighting game, will have less of a language barrier. JSS would likely be a licensing fee nightmare if it got a US release.

Not a DS owner, also an import noob... just saying what's on my mind.

hmm thanks...but i mean, are the games in japanese? i dont quite see the point in getting them because you cant read them... hmmm anyone?

Most JAP games are completely in Japanese. On rare occasion you'll come across one that has an English option. Some games that don't require much attention to text are fully playable, you just have to play around with the menus till you understand what is where.

Some games you can find full translations for if you google them. I don't know if there's a site like this for DS games but here you'll find JAP and US release lists with playability ratings. This'll let you know how difficult a certain game is if you're interested in it but don't speak Japanese:
