If there was to be a website where you could rent games online from the majority of the consoles, such as Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS2, and so on. Would you actually rent games from them regularly?

I was the (so far) yes.

I use a service called "zip.ca" in order to rent DVD movies, and I love it. I've often hoped they'd go to something similar for games but have yet to see it.

(However, the fact that the site is American and I am Canadian might kibosh that sort of idea before I even got started).

It depends on the service. If its like gamefly that it took damn near a week to get the discs I'll pass.

i wouldn't rent them -

i voted yes though

becasue i think it would be a good idea -- since gaming mags have retro sections in them i think consumers would be curious about the games they showcase and therefore an online rental service would be thier salvation

I don't like to rent games much and have not in 2 years at least.

Normally I get disks that are scratched and dirty plus I like having to rush. I would if the service kept everything in good condition and let you keep it longer.

But I like owning games. Not too good for my wallet @_@

Nope. For older systems you can find many of the games @ the $3-$4 price range so renting would just be a waste. I would rather just buy many of them and not have to deal with the hassles of the mail service and/or their service.

No no no no no. The idea isn't bad it's just I wouldn't do it. With movies being rented over the internet and now games there's just no interest for me there. If I want to try a game I just buy it and return it within a few days otherwise I prefer to keep my games :).
