For those who subscribe to Official Xbox Magazine, it should be in your mail soon and those who don't, it should be on the stands soon.
Well, another month gone by and another issue released. This time OXM packs a whopping 7 demos for we Xbonauts to enjoy:
Far Cry Instincts:A pseudo port of the highly acclaimed PC game hits the Xbox. You are a charter captain who is taking a customer to see some underwater wrecks when suddenly your boat is blown to pieces. Your customer gone and a mind filled with questions-the demo plops you on an island with gunboats and a helicopter shooting at you. How's that for starting a level?
This game is simply drop-dead gorgeous. The environments are just stunning and thus far not one skip in framerate that I can tell. Lighting and shadows look right and the plantlife doesn't have the bitmap spritey look. Very impressive and I can't wait for the full version to get released. This game shows that the Xbox still has some serious power in it.
Burnout Revenge: You get one race. One lap. And it makes you crave for more. The game looks noticably better than Burnout 3, takes away some of the motion blur but still retains the insane feeling of speed. This time you can plow through some pedestrian vehicles (though rear-ending a semi will cause a crash) and nudge them into walls or other racers. When you do buy the farm you can hit the "B" button for a type of crashbreaker, which you can control the direction by holding the left stick to where you want the explosion to go. This demo had a few ramped areas you can take to, some different paths to take and even fences you can bust through.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play the other demos yet (busy last night) but here's what else is heaped onto this disc: Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood, , The Suffering: Ties That Bind, Indigo Prophecy, Cold War and Conflict: Global Terror. I'll edit my post as I play 'em. Just wanted to give a heads up when I had the chance.
