They have the technology. They can rebuild it.

To all who either weren't a C64 user in the 80s/early 90s, or are too young to remember, Q-Link was a Commodore only online service. It later evolved (if you can call it that) to the thing you call AOL today.

Looks like someone has resurrected it! I'll be checking it out once the C64 gets put back together.

Just tried it out -- very impressive.

I never had a modem for my C-64 back in the day, but I knew about Q-Link and what you could do with it. My first taste of online was Prodigy in March of 1992, which I stayed with, at least in a secondary basis, until Classic shut down in October of 1999.

Now it's fascinating to fire up Q-Link and see what it was like back in the day, chat with people, see how it looked. It's so slow and primitive and hard to get around now, but then we're spoiled to the net. :)

Would it be possible to access through an emulator such as CCS64?

Very cool. I'll have to dig out my C64 and give this a shot. I once had my C64 hooked to the WWW by using Telnet and the Linx text browser, but that was years ago. This looks much more interesting (and fast...).

As interesting as that link is, is your first line a reference to Familly Guy?

That's pretty sweet! I never had a C64 back in the day, but just the fact that someone managed to do this is awesome. Now if we could only get the Sega Channel back up and running... LOL

Agreed! Now that would be an amazing accomplishment, especially if you could download games for free.
