Will Japanese Neo Geo titles work on a US unit?

I finally bought an American AES unit and I’m looking for a few games. I found a copy of Crossed Swords on EBAY but it’s Japanese. Will this game play on my US unit and what language will it be in? For some reason I remember reading that if you play a Japanese title on a US unit the in game text will be in English. Maybe I was dreaming that up, who knows.

Second, what is the memory card used for? I couldn’t find a price in the online rarity guide and was also wondering about it’s worth.

Yes. All AES carts work in any system. Its the system that determines regionality. So if thers something that only appears in the Japanese version (ie like blood or fatalities) then you need to either have a bios mod or a japanese unit to get that functionality.

If you want a choice what the game plays in either english or japanese.

Then have a UniBios put in the AES. It gives your, NeoGeo lot's of "options to chose from" how you play your game ;)
