I just bought one of those 'famiclone' style of consoles. This one is doing the rounds on British cable tv shopping channels right now. IT's quite good. IT has a few classics on there, including GALAGA.

Some questions if anyone can be so kind;

Who made it?
When?

At what scores does one get extra lifes? My version seems a bit 'fickle'.
What are the most number of extra lives you can rack up?

When your fighter is captured, does the alien craft have to be diving for you to rescue it, sometimes I shoot the captor but lose the craft.

Does it reach a conclusion, or is it endless like Space Invaders?

Can you have more than two fighters on the screen at the same time?

thanks. :)

Well, if it's the same version as the NES Galaga game, then it was made under license by Bandai in 1988.

Here are a few answers: you get your simultaneous fighter by hitting the captor when it attacks you (when it stays up in the lineup, you lose your captured fighter). Extra lives are given first at 40,000, then at 70,000 and every 70,000 points thereafter. I don't know whether there's a limit to the number of lives (if you can make it really far without losing many lives, then you're truly a Galaga champ!) or whether the game is an endless loop or has an ending.

Thanks. :)

I can only get to about 110,000 right now.

I never played Galaga when I was a kid, there was one in the burger bar across the street from me, but I was too young to afford 10p to play it.
