OK folks.

We did lose many of the user-uploaded avatars and photos (sorry, I don't back that stuff up very often), so if your avatar is missing you can use one of our gallery avatars or upload one from your PC at this time.

ALSO... this is a good time to do it if you haven't done it yet - upload your own personal photo as well! This is located just below the avatar upload in your user profile. SHOW YOURSELVES! :)

Thanks again for bearing with us. Change is good, right?

Looks like my avatar is still there. I don't know whether I should change it or not though. I have had it for a long time and I like it. Maybe I'll find something later on. :-P

I'll change my avatar now, but if my picture is gone, I'll leave it out for now and change it once I lose all the weight I plan on.

40lbs lighter now as it is and feelin' great and lookin' sexy!

wow, something has been wrong with the board lately. is it just me, or did it crash or something (tell me if someone already adressed that but i'm lazy) i think my avatar was linked from off-site, but not sure about the picture.

Edit: looks like both my Av and profile pic are toast. well, it's time for a new Profile pic anyways, and i have a good idea for a new Av.

I guess there are actually some people who don't spend every possible minute here at the board...the nerve! :D

I've replaced my profile photo...the same one I had before. I may be lazy in not making a new one but I happen to like that photo. And my avatar survived somehow...

...or did it. I'm adding this afterwards. I saw my avatar before but upon posting, I only see a red x. It's been doing that today. Maybe I'll replace it tomorrow just to be on the safe side but it's too late to get creative now.

Cool...I decided to grab a new avatar with the return of good ol' DP. As an added little bonus, I also threw up an actual picture of myself this time. Yippee.

I've taken the opportunity to put up a new photo that's a little more indicative of my current state of mind. Such as it is.

When I went to upload my avatar (and thus, update my profile) it said that my signature was too long. But I didn't change it from what it was before?
Its changed now (to something smaller). Doesn't really bother me, but I thought I'd let you know.

What is said is that the website got declaired
<a href="http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69443">
denial of service</a>. Basically some jerk attacked the address. As for your picture, even if it is linked from off-site, if that link wasn't backed up you won't have your picture on here. I hope can recall where you found it.

I have a question.. Were ALL of the member photos in our profiles before required to be uploaded to the site? Because I tried to get my picture back up into my profile (it's the same one as I have in my blog), but it's saying it's too big for the size limits, and I know I didn't have that problem before. Thanks!

That shouldn't be an issue. I'll fix that setting right now.

I'm having two problems. One is I can no longer link my avatar to an offsite photo. Second is everytime I go to update my profile, I'm told my signature is too big. Not sure if these have been fixed yet.

I don't think you were able to link off-site avatars before either - because I can't control the size of the file you use and I don't want anything too large in that spot.

I reduced the size of the signature. It handles 256 bytes. If you need more than that then your signature is too big! I can relax this somewhat but seriously, do you need a paragraph at the end of every one of your posts?

Never had a paragraph. Had a .gif file (smaller than most other peoples such as Sothy's) and 1 line of text: "My Want List | My Feedback | My Auctions"

Edit: I think I know what the problem is. The character limit is restriciting the ability to put hyperlinks in your signature. I had links for all three (plus the pic), now at best I can only use 1 and the pic.

What browser are you using?

I just figured out, I can see it if I use Netscape or IE, but if I use Mozilla (which I normally do), then I can't see it.

i didnt think my signature was all that long, but i have a few links in it, so, if those count towards the 256 then its saying its too large

digitalpress

Yeah. At the moment you can enter 256 characters into the signature field. Plenty of space to add a banner and a line or two of text.

Mine ended up being too long as well. I used to link to Extended Play, MAMExpose and a few other DP features. The problem is, reducing the text length in the signatures doesn't really solve the problem of people linking to one really tall graphic banner, which is the only ones I personally found annoying. I never saw one line of html links as particularly offensive.

Alright you convinced me :)

I'm all for text links. If you can't support what you had before then there's clearly a problem. I'll correct that now.

Nope -- I know for sure as I distinctly recall setting up a random avatar script on my webspace then realizing I couldn't use it. -_-

Perhaps you already know this but uploading pics to the blog isn't working.

When I try to upload a pic for a blog entry I get the following error:

Is it me, or are the Roundtable City Hall effect not is place also??? I'm supposed to have a Red Glow (which shows that I bought it), but it's not there. I don't see anyone else having one either. Is this being removed, or has no one noticed it - or maybe I'm just crazier than normal.

Well that's just weird. I could always see it before.... Guess I'll have to check my browser... Thanks for the reply Tholly!

Edit: checked in two browsers... Cleared the caches and such, but still no glow?!?!?!? This kind of sucks... I'll have to dig further...

Edit 2: After further digging, I can find nothing wrong. I'm wondering it something changed on DP since the hack. I use Mac, but have never had an issue with the extra features in the DP forum not showing. Now they do not show, period!!!!

Not sure what changed, but it was nothing on my end... :hmm:
