Watch (http://media.engadget.com/videos/Eng_Cat_PSP_vs_DS.mpg)

Cat "DS" Schwartz vs. Some stereotypical black "PSP" Bitch.

Not the greatest vid but it is pretty funny. Besides it's good to see Cat again. I've missed her since the G4 merger.

Cool video, njiska.

I've never watched G4... Cat seems cute. And I particuarly like her voice. And, of course, having the DS triumph was a fitting finale. Pretty funny stuff.

um...yeah. I can't really say that was funny cause it seemed more like a bash at sony then anything. Also How the Heck is a psp euro trash it just came out in the UK.

The Euro trash comment is about it's design, not about it actually being eurotrash. The reason the PSP failed to defeat the DS is because as a game console it's doing just that. The video was released on Engadget within the last week and shot at the end of july. The DS was already doing far better then the PSP by then.

Not to build any flames here, But how have they "failed" the race has just started. For a handheld moving into to Nintendos market I think they're doing better then any other Handheld in histroy thats had to go up against nintendo.

I do so love my DS and PSP though *Snuggles them close*

Ok failed was a strong word. How about losing? They're losing the war, so they lost the fight. The PSP has broken into the market but it's being sustained by the UMD not by the games.

That would've been the prefect ending. What better way to bring peace to the DS/PSP conflict then steamy lesbian sex?

I was hoping for the same thing. It would have given me more of a reason to *ahem* hold them close ;)

DS: At least I don't have the dead pixel issue, bitch.
Me: Yes, you do. My PSP has no dead pixels. My DS has two. The first and ONLY device I ever bought with dead pixels is my DS.

That video was terribly lame and stereotypical. I hate stereotypes.

:/

Did you at least get your DS with dead pixels replaced for free with no hassel by Nintendo? That's not a service Sony offers.

you know I got two dead pixals on the DS touch screen as well maybe I should call nintendo and let them know. there are kind of a pain. (the dead pixals not nintendo)

I have two dead ones on my PSP two *shakes Fist at sony*

though I have heard if you make a big enough fuss about it sony will replace it to. But I like having 1.5 firmware.

I can't tell you about the PSP dead pixels, because i don't have a PSP yet. However i've heard many bad things about Sony and how you have to fight them to get a replacement. After all look how Sony handled the dreaded DRE's with the PS2.

Anyways when i got my DS it had one dead pixel in the top screen and that was it. One little pixel.

I phoned up Nintendo, told them i had a dead pixel, they asked which screen, i told them and then the tech support rep said something so amazing i'll never for get it.

"I'm sorry but all we can do is send you a fully tested replacement DS. It should arrive in about a weeks time. Once you recieve it stick your bad DS in the new one's package and sometime during the next month through it in the mail using our premaid mailing label"

For christs sake, he apologized because the BEST they could do was send me a tested replacement and then i would have to return mine. Nintendo has the best support i've ever experienced.

Call 'em up and get the dead pixels replaced. After all, you spent money on it, it should work flawlessly.

Oh and firmware 2.0 will be hacked sooner or later.

The video sucked, but man was I glad to see Cat's tatties a few years ago when she f'd up and posted them to her blog. And smoking too. What a fine piece.

1.51/1.52 is on the verge of being cracked, but at least one hacker group predicts it'll take a hardware mod to get around 2.0 and up. I hope they're wrong, but I bet they're right.

One question though... I bought it in November. Do they check a receipt? Or is it really no questions asked? Because that's way too amazing and unbelievable.

And I believe the horror stories about Sony. I'm just glad I didn't get any dead pixels on my PSP in the first place. Not that it would matter as I could easily return it to my store if I had to and get a new one, but I really don't feel like going through what could be countless PSP's to find one with no dead pixels.

Flashback to PSP release and new message board to contain the Nintendo bitches.

Of course they're still doing, it's Nintendo, unlike Sony they actually have honour. LOL

White (or Other Color) Dot on the Screen

With a small number of Nintendo DS screens, one or two dots on the screen may appear to be "stuck" on a particular color, such as white or red. This effect is caused when a particular pixel (the dots that make up the screen) is not working properly. Even with the high quality standards set by LCD manufacturers, you will find this situation is common in many LCD devices (PC monitors, televisions, cell phones, etc.), and is within LCD manufacturers' specifications.

It's important to understand that this issue will remain limited to the pixels you have already noticed. The problem will not get any worse and you should not expect to see the problem in any other areas of the screen.
We suggest you use your system for a few weeks to determine whether this interferes with your enjoyment of game play. If, after using your system for awhile, you feel that this tiny dot is too distracting, the Nintendo DS does carry a one-year warranty. We are happy to inspect and, if necessary, fix your system at no charge within the warranty period.

They say they'll inspect and repair your system, but i trust they'll still do the swap they way they did for me. Even if they don't Nintendo ships and repairs fast.

Here's the number, know it by heart: 1-800-255-3700

I swapped mine 1 hour after purchase in November and they never asked me for a receipt. After all it hasn't been a year since launch yet.

Give 'em a call and let me know how it goes. I'm curious to see if they offer you what they offered me.
