Just recently picked up Pirates for Xbox and saw the ad for this game on the manual.

Anyway, it looks pretty interesting. It's a turn based strategy game set in the modern US, featuring 7 different factions and non linear mission progression.

Ships October 3 for Xbox and PC. I'll definitely be picking this one up.

More from EBgames.com:

Following a great increase in terrorism, internal strife and ultimately, the nuclear destruction of Washington, D.C., the United States shatters into a half-dozen nation-states that descend into war. Take the helm of one of these newfound sovereignties (or the "peacekeeping" European Expeditionary Force) and struggle to reunify America...by any means necessary!

Modern 3D tactical war game viewed from a "bird's-eye" overhead camera.

Non-linear mission progression with changes based on player-made decisions.

Real-time resolution of turned-based moves. Take your time while you decide your move, but once you have selected your action, see the results all play out in full animation models, exploding vehciles and burning cities and forests!

Fully destructible terrain/environment. As the battle proceeds, everything from explosions and destroyed buildings permanently mark the terrain. Moving tanks will leave tread marks that stay for the duration of the mission. At the end, very little will look the same.

Fight your way across the United States. Had enough of the Windy City? Then go ahead and bomb Chicago! Invade across the Rockies into California, capture the tank factories in Ohio and lay siege to New York City! You decide - the fate of the nation is in your hands!

Choose to play as one of seven different factions: Greater California, Arcadia (Pacific Northwest), New Republic of Texas, Heartland (Midwest and Great Plains states), Dixieland, Yankee Union and the European Expeditionary Force.

Call up National Guard forces equipped with M1 Abrams battle tanks, Apache helicopters and stealth bombers. Or make a deal with the Russians and equip your boys with MiG fighters and T-95 Heavy Tanks.

Online and offline mutiplayer support on all platforms.

Yeah, it looks really good.

It almost looks like advance wars with a face lift and more serious overtones.

The website is up with movies, screens and some more info.

Ooohh.. Ooooohh.. yeah.. I LOVE these kind of games (turn-based). I used to play them on my PC all the time. Unfortunately.. I MAY have to pick this up for the Xbox; as my PC has been severely underpowered the last couple of years. It'll be interesting to see how the controls play out on the console version. I have yet to see a user-friendly turn-based war strategy on ANY console. I was very disappointed with Dai Senryaku VII. Military Madness on the PSX wasn't bad.. but was probably even better on the meager PC platforms for it's time.

Closest thing I can remember to this was Panzer General 3D.. I played that for months. I also own all of the Battle Isle games (BI 2220: Shadow of the Emperor was an underrated classic.. IMO) and if you're into this kind of thing; but don't mind a "sci-fi" setting.. the older PC games Fallen Haven & Liberation Day are excellent.
