I've been doing a little bit of research on these, and was wondering if it is possible to get one to work on a newer PC. Also, where would you buy one? I checked ebay and couldn't find any. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find a thing. Any help is appreciated.

Doesn't look like it, since they were ISA cards. Shame.

edit -Good luck with this (http://www.costronic.com/Ev71p.htm)

Right, I forgot about the difference in size of the cards. However, for things that we can't seem to get good emulators for (such as 3DO and Saturn), what is to stop another company from making newer cards?

FreeDO (http://www.freedo.org/) and SSF (http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/%7Ephantasy/ssf/index.html) aren't that bad :)

They both do make me wish I had a better computer, though :(

They pop up on eBay a few times a year.. but when they do.. they usually fetch a very high dollar ($200-$300). A used 3DO can be bought for a fraction of that.

The ONLY 3dO related item I've ever seen go for more than them is a 3DO memory card. I've been searching for the weird shaped 3DO controller that came with the Blaster forever.. it was also sold.. boxed, separately as simply "The 3DO Controller"; NOT to be confused with "The 3DO Controller 2".. which I already own. Both were shaped like "batarangs" but the contoller one had jagged lines where the controller 2 was smooth kinda' butterfly shaped).

While I've never wanted a Blaster card.. I'd pay dearly for it's controller.. VERY rare.

It is a wierd controller, but kind of cool looking. By the way, I wasn't just referring to 3DO on the emulator subject. Let's say Sega released one that allowed you to play Saturn and Dreamcast games on your PC, I would definitely buy one.

Well Sega did release GiriGiri for a while, which was mighty cool of them. Too bad they didn't further support the project (guess there weren't too many people interested in playing the Saturn version of Panzer Dragoon on their PC) :( Doubtful they'll ever pursue a similar project with regard to the Dreamcast in the near future.

so yea, let's hope the Icarus team eventually feels good enough about their work to release it publicly. GD-ROM support so that you don't have to download images of games you already own? Hell, I'll send them $50 when it comes out.

Yowza. Such things exist?!

Didn't the card work with only a very specific model of CD-ROM drive? (Oh, wait, it seems that drive was packaged (http://assembler.roarvgm.com/3do_blaster/3do_blaster.html) with the unit.)

Anyway, I bet it would work just fine with an old 486.
