I had some gripes, but overall I found it to be a pleasant experience.

Dear god could they be more wrong?

"Older Games (previously known as Good Deal Games Publishing)" :cough: :cough:

But even better...

"their in-house adventure game development software (used for making their Pinocchio title)." WHAT?! @_@
Not only is ENIGMA Adv. Studio for a different genre
of games but it's not even for the same platform! :P

In any case great coverage nonetheless. I still
think this is totally hilarious though. haha! :D

Doh!

I definitely had my facts wrong, and you're right to find it amusing. I couldn't find any info on Pinnochio on the OlderGames site when I was putting together my article, and I could have sworn I was told at the expo that Enigma was used to make Pinnochio. Also, OlderGames carries a lot of titles Good Deal Games published, I've been out of the scene for like two or three years, so I made a silly assumption.

Thanks for the info, I'll edit my article as soon as I can!

Don't sweat it buddy. I actually had a good laugh
and enjoyed the article. Keep up the good work. :D

FYI: VGT Trivia was made with ENIGMA and Good Deal
Games carries a lot of titles that OlderGames published
and not the other way around. We no longer have them
re-sell our games exclusively since we wanted to open
the door for other shops to work with us. :)

I missed Digital Retro Revolution’s performance, but it seems that they put together some funky dance music with a large dose of video game samples, house music loops, shouting vocals and dance beats. From what I’ve heard off their website, the music is poorly produced, poorly mastered, and cheesy. That may appeal to some, but not to me. Their names of their tracks were cooler than they actually sounded, with names like “Galagalaxian,” “CentiMillipede” and “It’s Wacked Man (Ms. Pac-Man Remix).” I hear they put on a great visual performance, though, and they're selling a 10 minute DVD of spliced game footage and other stuff backed by their music.

If it doesn't appeal to you, that's fine - you're entitled to your opinion - but to say it was poorly produced and mastered is a false statement. The clips on our website are 64kbps 22khz mono in order to conserve space/bandwidth and are not cd quality. (128kbps 44khz stereo)
If our custom productions weren't in great demand, Digital Press Records wouldn't have raised the fees from $60 to $150 per hour. We made TONS of contacts at CGE and business couldn't be better! Too bad we couldn't perform all day at CGE. Everybody would have been able to witness our precise timing and lightning fast reflexes and what we are capable of doing with sound, lights and video games along with the sharp, professional demeanor that we project.
We take pride in what we do and are true professionals in every sense of the word.
I got a big laugh out of your article too, all the way to the bank!
LOL

Yep, you're right about the quality of the samples. I retract my statement about it being poorly mastered.

It's all good!

We should have better quality clips available for download...

...but it's a marketing technique that we use so people will buy our CD!

:)

I've never covered an event before (in some sort of professional capacity), and I could have been a little more tactful covering your music. This has been a learning experience for me. Make NO assumptions, and double check all your facts. Especially if they're going to impact both people you interact with online, and your credibility. Granted, this is obvious information, but it's easy to forget when you're trying to make a deadline and get your article out the door.

Another funny thing, is that I thought Billy Galaxy's booth was being run by a guy from "Su Te Ki Japan" -- when I was at Billy's booth (I guess he was sharing it with someone from that company), I asked the guy if they had a website. He ended up giving me a business card for Su Te Ki Japan (his company?), and that led me to believe it was his booth. Thankfully, Billy was cool enough to email me with the info, and I corrected it.

Now if only FOX News can learn that... :D
