NEVER!!!!
As long as you've got a copy of your excel file you should be ok to make edits to that, and to resubmit once the guide is back up and running.

he wasn't talking about the editors work, but about the normal user functions (= having a list of what you own online)

That's what Stu was talking about too. I used to keep my own collection in an Excel file.
(He means that you should be keeping an offline file too just in case)

Whining about it isn't going to make it go faster. If you're in a hurry buy a book.

I think I'm going to make the online guide a pay service after all. I'm getting tired of people who want everything NOW, FREE.

Thats not what I meant. I'd assume that as editor of a section you've got a hard copy of your portions of the rarity guide. When you update it you send it in. I keep the file until I get sent out the updated official one. So I was just thinking, continue to add to that one.
I do keep my own excel file though of my own personal stuff and have been known to make notes in there for the Official guide once I get it back. As long as your making notes for it shouldnt really matter how your marking em as long as they eventually get updated.

If you're serious about this, would you consider allowing us to continue managing our collections online for free? I don't have a problem with buying the books; I suppose it's about time I contributed a little something to this site anyway, but I do like managing my collection here.

This is why
It all depends on how anal you want to be.
I'm anal.
I track my stuff that deeply because thats the easiest way to find variants, and since most of my game cases have been at my parents house (when I was dorming for school and stuff) the last few years if I needed info because people wanted to know something, I could with ease go to my list and get most of the info that one would need off it without actually having the complete game with me.
That... and i'm anal
