Taking advantage of the reprinted/refurbished copies to add Persona 2 to my collection. :) Since I'm half-assedly collecting all the US-released PlayStation RPGs, I figured I should get this one now before the supply runs out and the prices swings back up. I was kicking myself for not buying a used copy for $25 a year or two ago, but this takes away the sting of that, especially since this is a pretty good price (even with the rip-off shipping) for a sealed copy (strangely bidders on eBay are still paying MORE than this price for used copies half the time).

And now I got the other. :) The bummer is that I bidded on this copy of Rhapsody (from the same seller who had the Persona 2 to save on the shipping) just before a couple sellers listed a bunch of sealed copies, which threw off the current supply and demand ratio a little, so there have been a few recent auctions that sold for a bit less than what I'm paying for Rhapsody. Oh well, I can't complain too much since I fully expect the prices to rise again eventually once the supply runs out. I mean, hey, I got both copies brand new for less than what a used Rhapsody was selling for not long ago. :)

I actually went through a similar experience a couple years ago. One or two sellers on eBay got ahold of unsold stock of Wonder Project J2 still in the manufacter's boxes. Since it's an obscure text-heavy import, there were way more copies than the market wanted. I managed to get a box of ten copies for $20 shipped. Over the years, resellers have been trying to sell them off for a profit, usually struggling just to get 8-10 bucks a piece, but now that most have sold through, it's pretty easy to sell them for 10 bucks each. Not too shabby for me, and who knows, maybe the price will slowly increase as more people want to get it when there aren't many copies left for sale. Not that I'm planning to sell, though. :P
