Battle Tanx: Global Assualt (N64)

Borrowed this game from my cousin and I really like it, havent even tried the multiplayer mode yet. It's just fun going around and blowing shit up and completing missions.

Anyway just interested in everybody elses thoughts on the game, obviously it wasnt that popular but I'm enjoying it, as it's not too difficult to play but is stil challenging (its also on PSX)

The Battletanx games are severely underrated imo. They're both fun as hell. A bit simple, but fun as hell.

I was pleasently surprised by how smoothly the game ran on the N64 (let's face it, most N64 games run like poo by modern standards, but Battletanx is smoooooth).

You just reminded me that I really need to whip up some nice gameplay videos of it.

I played the PSX version and found it to be average in all respects. I had a decent time with and and played it all the way thorugh. The multiplayer would probably be ok, but I'm thinking there are better ways to entertain friends. Does the N64 version have the (average) FMV footage?

Yes the N64 version has FMV (or whatever you call the movie clips made with N64 graphics) in between missions.

i absolutely loved them both back in the day. tried them recently though and... eh :/

I found it better than goldeneye which was just too damn ugly and infuriating to play after playing countless better FPS.... BT was something different not great but good at least

I played it a few times back in the day, decent game not one of N64's top ten but maybe in the best 20 or 30.

I still remember the Snuggle Bear parody commercial used for the first game.

That commercial was funny as hell.

I'm big into tank games but I haven't got this one yet. Is there strategy involved or is it just about blowing stuff up? And which one, PS or N64, should I hunt down?

Actually I love tanks in real life too, here's me with my buddy in a military exercise in 2003, I think.

My friends and I used to play the original batle tanx multiplayer mode all time time. Its ALOT of fun, one of the best multiplayer games I have ever played.
