I just one this auction on ebay. Does this look like an original us version. It has a sticker upc code on it. Does anyone know what the us version upc code number should be?

Jesus fucking Christ - have you honestly just paid over $350 for a friggin' UPC sticker? @_@ That is simply unbelievable when the 99.999%-identical Euro version can be had for under $2.

The US UPC code should be '010086070767'.

@ Bluteg - I'm not sure what the US UPC code for Strider is, but it should start '010086...' like Sonic, whereas the Euro code is '974365635251'.

Thanks, I guess I do have the a US Strider then. That brings me up to 71 US releases.

Yeah, I'm sorry. The guy that won that auction is a moron. Either that or the guy who sold it is a great salesman. You can MAKE that EXACT UPC code, if you are THAT anal. Holy crap.

First I hate you. Second I will never pay $350 for a UPC sticker. I don’t think it is even a US release. It is a multi lingual release with a US UPC sticker. I have a PAL Sonic so as far as I am concerned I have a complete set. If I see it for cheap I will get it but never will I pay $350 for a Sega game.

First of all, I am a collector. I want only usa versions. The copy I have has the upc code of strider according to the sms faq that are online. I wonder if the box has been switched. Does anyone have a usa version of sonic and strider, and can compare the serial numbers for me?
P.S. The seller has agreed to take it back if it isn't a 100% complete us version.
Thanks

The Sonic UPC code is 010086070767. The '7076' refers to the part number on the spine.
Using the same logic, the UPC code for a US Strider should be 01008609005x, and Spiderman will be 01008607065x. The last digit on both, x, will be a checksum.

...

Now, who wants to partner up with me here? You print up the stickers, I'll search out some dirt cheap PAL copies of all 3, and we can split the profits 50/50. Sound good? :D

(Yes, I'm kidding, but it would be that easy).

Anagrama, do you have any of the games to confirm this upc code listing? I saw these numbers online also, but are they correct?
Thanks

I don't own them, but that's what they will be - check any of your other Sega-published games, and the UPC code will follow the same format.

The Sonic & Spiderman codes are also in the VGRebirth (http://vgrebirth.org/games/) database.

No, it's all just part of a vast internet conspiracy to defraud you.
