...or something like that. They say that "you can play the game with only one hand"... kinda cheesy and hard to control at times. But I guess that's not the reason to buy the game in the first place.

I didn't as I'm not big into volleyball or these "personality sims", though my brother in law did (and got weird looks when he bought it at EB-"Look I just want a decent vollyball game, IS THAT WRONG?!")
We played it for about 30-45 minutes in exhibition. It does have a 2 player mode, but it's against one another. The controls are real simple: A for "attack"/block (when by the net) and B for "bump"/assist. Tapping the left stick twice in a direction does some swift move, but I'm not 100% on that. Hitting the ball is fairly easy to the point of being too easy, but once you get a volley going it's wild. The graphics are sweet- the beaches, the sky, the babes. Sand flies when you move abruptly and it covers your character when you fall. Some jaggies here and there, but otherwise a great visual treat. Definitely a trash talk game.
That's as far as I got. I'm not sure how far he'll get into it as he also picked up Dead to Rights at a good price and that has caught his attention. If I get some more play time on it, I'll let you know how much I like it.

I may rent it, but I'm not really interested in buying DoA Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Guilty Gear Xtreme Beach Volleyball, on the other hand . . .

I just got it yesterday and didn't have a chance to play it.
For the record, most of the locals here LOVE Beach Spikers Volleyball, by Sega for GameCube. The girls in that game look pretty hot too, and there's lots of touching, which makes me feel warm and tingly. Seriously, the gameplay is excellent, especially when you get 4 players together.
So a little side-by-side is in order, I think. I'll post something here when I put some time into DOA VBall this weekend.

I picked it up the other day. It's really hard...I squandered all my cash playing blackjack and the slots, bought Lei Fang a pair of sunglasses--then was rejected to play with her and Helena. :(
The game play is similar to Beach Spikers, which I held off buying in leu of DoA VB.
But, there are some obvious shots where it's just promoting the girls rubbing around in the sand in skimpy suits. :P

Man I have ZERO interest in that game. If it was Kunio Xtreme Dodgeball I'd buy it in a heartbeat tho! :) That's what they should have done...a dodgeball game. One of hte few sports genres I REALLY REALLY like!

I bought the game & really like it.
It's a good change-of-pace game with a simple (old-school) playing style as far as the volleyball goes. You only use 2 buttons & it reminds me of some of the classic NES volleyball games (SuperSpike V-Ball, Venice Beach) but a helluva lot better to look at.
As far as what everyone's buying this game for, I'd describe it as a lesbian dating simulator. You try to woo the girl of your choice with gifts & such. Pretty interesting.
I just bought Beach Spikers for the GameCube tonight at Best Buy for $9.99, so if you're wanting that game, go to Best Buy now!!!
