It fucking rocks! i just finished the demo and it was unbeleivable. The presentation is A1, the story looks to be good and the amount of stuff you can do in the demo is unbelivable.

I can't wait the week and a half for the full version to be released.

Yeah, the demo is awesome. I'll probably get the Euro version(Fahrenheit) since it's not censored.

Yeah the Demo is awesome

question:

what is censored in U.S. version?

the game seems very adult as it is

njiska

Yeah i'm kind of curious about that too. I didn't hear anything about censorship in the US but i was gonna buy the European version just because Farenheit is a much better name.

It's a softcore sex scene. The ESRB was going to give it an AO so they toned it down to give it an M rating. It pisses me off that stuff that would give a movie a R rating would give a game an AO. The ESRB needs to change their standards because stores are treating AO games like X-rated stuff and refusing to carry them.

Can't but the whole blame on the ESRB. It's because they're under such scrutiny from the US Goverment that they have to be so over causious.

Still, i'm a purist so now i have even more reason to get the European version. It really pisses me off too because i'm in Canada so i shouldn't have to suffer from this censorship. Sometimes we get different movie releases it'd be nice to get different game releases.

Just played the 4 level Fahrenhiet demo and christ is this game fucking amazing. The console controls are a little weak but it's still an A level game.

I was kind of suprised though that one of the demo's bonus movies featured full frontal nudity. Bush and everything. No wonder the US is getting censored. Look's like i'm importing from Europe.

Yeah, what a disappointment that we can't watch porn in our videogames because God knows we can't find it anywheres else.

Jesus christ talk about falling apart at the end. I'm not gonna spoil the game for you but all i can say is thaat the last 4 or 5 chapters really lose there pacing and things seem way to rushed together. So much so that all sense disappears from the game.

Don't get me wrong this game is a must own and is one of the best i've played this year, but good damn the ending chapters are a serious step down in quality.

So the European version is in English?

Is there any other differences from the U.S. version in anything? I mean besides the racy content?

As far as i know the only difference is the content. Although the european versions come in multiple languages. I played the UK version and obviously it was in english.

This gets my vote for game of the year...seriously!! Totally engrossing storyline, perfect voice acting, and the analog stick controls are fun once you get the hang of it.

I went to bed thinking about this game last night and I can't wait to get home tonight to play it again. It's that good.

It almost reminds me of an interactive movie version of those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that I read as a kid.

I've got the European version and it's all in English, with the option to choose a few other languages.

I know I'm REALLY behing on finally playing this game, but I too enjoyed the demo of it and amd thinking about picking up a copy for th Xbox, but I also know about the censorship thing. Is there any way to play the European version on my NTSC console without a modchip?

You could import the PC version, no region problems there. Also, apparentely on the Xbox, the things where you have to alternatively press the triggers is meant to be hard and not nice whereas pressing the left and right keys on a keyboard is much easier

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it made more sense than starting a new one devoted to the same game.

I just today got around to playing IP. Last year I bought my 360 second hand and the previous owner purchased IP as an xbox original. I never gave it a thought until today. I was clearing off some space on my tiny 20 GB HDD and decided to give this a whirl to decide whether to delete it.

It's fucking amazing.

I suck at the action events, so unfortunately I had to turn the difficulty down to easy, but the game itself is fantastic. It's like I'm watching a movie!

Also, for a collection of polygons, that Carla character is pretty foxy :D

I thought the game starts off really strong and totally imersive. Then, later in the game (no spoilers), the story takes a few turns that come out of nowhere (and are never explained) that kind of ruined it for me. The game's creator himself said he wanted to wrap up the story, so he did it in the fastest way possible. And he also kind of said it was a mistake.

<EDIT> Huh, my exact feelings were summarized in post 11 above.

I personally think this game was Excellent.. I kinda wish I had a "modded" PS2 to play the original. I personally liked in the game; based on how you answer a question reflects how the game ends. Even though you probably can go on youtube and watch the different endings it's alot more fun to actually "play" like that.
Also I think this should be made into a movie someday.

i find it hilarious that this game is a giant love letter to american action movies, and gets censored in america. yes, it's got boobs and sex, surely he didn't pick that up from the american movies he designed the game after! also: necrophilia lol

Isn't the upcoming PS3 game Heavy Rain a spiritual sequal to this game?

That's what I've read - if it's true then I'll have to get a PS3.

So, I played Indigo Prophecy for about 6 hours today. The story's absolutely fantastic. I just reached the part where Carla meets Lucas in his office and he's freaking out because bugs are dropping on him.. HOWEVER, I hate the action-button pressing sequences. I'd rather have it be an adventure-only game and forget this action button crap. Also, the camera and controls make baby-Jesus cry.

Question: if I wanted to play the non-censored version, would it make more sense to get the European or Japanese version? Does the JP version have english subtitles/dialogue? I imagine it would be quite difficult to play the Euro version on my NTSC television.

Wait until you get a little further, Ron. The games action scenes later on in the game are far better than the earlier ones. It's like O_O.

I've finished the game twice, but just like Sniderman said, the game itself takes a huge drop later in the game. It's really unfortunate since early in the game you're given a ton of attention to detail, with stuff like how you can raise your meter by doing different things in pretty much every area, to later on where you can't hardly at all.

I just got Fahrenheit off of eBay too. (If you really want to see that sex scene, it is quietly buried in a Youtube walkthrough, last time I checked.) IP is also on Steam these days.

your not technically screwed... Due to what I said previously, Based on how you answer questions, find "things",etc each have a different ending to the game. I think there are like 3 different endings.

Also if Heavy Rain a spiritual sequel to this game, this means to me a MUST buy..
Then again if it is not based on what I am reading it looks like a bad-ass game.

Is there any way I can replay this section? It really bugs me that I wasn't able to find that book. I haven't played any further in the game, but if I load my save I'm at the select screen for the next scene. If I select that scene in the chapters menu will it allow me to try again?

Hitman Tyler
02-01-2009, 10:56 AM
Yes you can re-play it, but I don't think this will change the ending again, from what originally suppose to have. Then again I might be wrong about this.
If you want just re-play the game from the Beginning again, sounds dumb but it's worth it.

WARNING:
There is more of this to come (finding things). So don't mess up anymore. LOL

I checked an endings FAQ on gamefaqs. I didn't read the endings themselves, but instead searched for the terms "book" and "Shakespeare" and nothing came up. Are you sure that missing the book has any effect on which ending I get?

Hitman Tyler
02-01-2009, 12:45 PM
To be quite honest I don't know. But based on when I bought the game, I read and what attracted me to the game was: how you answer, act, etc will reflect how the game ends.
So with that said I have no clue if it will effect it.
If you really want to know where the book is.... Just let me know I will tell u where it is.

The conversations and finding things only have bearing on your sanity meter which you need to reach the end. The only thing that really changes the end is who you allow to win the final battle. Either you beat the other guys or one of them wins. That's the only thing that changes the endings.

Awesome. Thanks guys.

As for the book, I was searching his desk and boxes around his desk. It never triggered an action to pick it up. It clearly indicated when I found the paper as it said to push right or left or whatever to interact with it. No suck luck with the book.

Just to assure you, missing the book will not hurt anything. If you are waiting on Quantic Dreams next project Heavy Rain, I would suggest taking a little time with Omikron: The Nomad Soul. In each game Quantic has released you can see a real effort to advance what gaming means and while everything they try does not always work, you can be assured that you will experience something unique.

I finished the game tonight.

What the hell? What is that AI shit? That came out of nowhere. I seriously don't understand it. The oracle aspect I kind of followed but not really. The AI part is total bullshit nonsense.

I got the best ending - the one where Lucas gets the secret. He doesn' tell us what the secret is?!? We don't know what (if anything) he does with it? uggh... weak.

Did I miss anything or is this all there is.

Easily one of the best Xbox titles that I ever bought. If you haven't had a chance to play it yet I would recommend downloading it immediately.

There's one critical point (that I remember) in the game that can make or break the ending.

Yeah I got that in the ending. I understand it, I just don't "get" it.

The first half of the game was an interesting murder mystery with cult influences. The latter half was pure and uncut WTF.

It also has lots of Bowie, which can hardly fail to advance what gaming means.
