There's a few places in Ohio not too far away. There's Music n games on rt 20 in Ashtabula , there's also a couple flea market type dives in that area. World of Games(was owned by dp member World of Games) in Geneva on the Lake. I've had some luck the few times I took the trip out there. Hope this helps. :)

mindless punk ( a member on here) has a store in PA, not too sure if it is in erie though..

oh, theres a place called "zerns" that has 2 classic video game stores... too bad that their prices are through the roof and suck.. Pretty decent trade in prices, however

We travel through (and stay in) Erie quite frequently... it's a nice little place that has all the stores in one central location -- yay! Peach St. -- as well as a Texas Roadhouse restaurant right by the highway.

At any rate, on Peach St. there is a Salvation Army just out in front of the WalMart. It's okay, but I've never really found anything gaming there except for once seeing sealed NES games in the glass case up front. Of course, they wanted some ridiculous price for them ($30+) so I walked out laughing.

Further north on Peach, when it turns towards downtown and becomes some other name (which escapes me for the moment) is a two-storey thrift on your right-hand side. Not a bad place to scrounge in, the basement is kinda dirty but I have seen a cart or two in my days there. I would rate the store a C+.

Finally, just west of that downtown store is another SA with a basement store (across from McDonalds). Seen much more gaming goodness there, and you should make it your first stop -- although not with my directions! :D

We were there last summer. I found a place in the phone book then, but I don't remember the name of it. They had a lot of boxed Inty games, lots of loose 2600 games, Lynx games, and even a few Game.Com games (among other stuff). I know it's next to a strip mall, because I had to park there after I missed the store. I hope it's still there! :D

EDIT: Whoops, you asked for fleas/thrifts, my bad. The place I mentioned is an actual store, in case it's not obvious from the description. If I'm not mistaken, it's called Endless Entertainment.

I'm not entirely sure , he was talking about selling recently and I never really got out there too much. He may be closed.

LOL - if you live more than an hour away from Zern's, don't even bother, unless you're going there for the food. The guy who owns the Atari stand (older man, always wears a cowboy hat, slightly psychotic) and his (definitely psychotic) wife are notoriously hard to deal with - I've been going there for over 10 years and every transaction I've ever had with him has been like a knife fight. Expect to pay upwards of $5 for common 2600 carts and several hundred dollars for anything which is remotely rare. His booth also looks like a trainwreck and he has more crap jammed in there than he will ever know what to do with. Most of the consoles and controllers he has in his pile of crap are broken and he will not refund for or take back broken items.

However...Mr. Stilphen and I bought an entire 55-gallon drum (!) full of 2600 controllers from him many years ago for 20 bucks. Remember that one, Scott? ;-)

Not to bum you out, but I used to go to fleas all over PA and I have to honestly say that I haven't found anything good "in the wild" for several years now.

I used to go to Zern's religiously back when I lived in NJ, around 1995-96. I didn't know I had any competition there back then. ;) Maybe I got to him earlier, because when I started going, he got a buck for commons and I paid $5 for 2600 Mr. Do's Castle and quite a few other rarer 2600 titles. His son across the way is just as bad. We went there this summer after a 5 year absence, and it looks like both of their tables had exactly the same stuff on them as the last time. LOL

Sorry for the threadjack, we now return you to western PA. :D

Keep up your charm, Keep going to yard sales, and be happy with what you get.

And, edit your subject title to say "Still looking for good areas in PA" Or something like that.

:)

im not looking to travel to far, seeing as how i have to beg my friend for his car and i try not to go to far when im borrowing it.

Slate: i'm just trying to find places i can go to close to the campus, and im really not trying to go through the state to find a good place to go

Well, i've never been at Erie, PA, But, i do know where to look.

Make sure to stop in every thrift store, yard sale, And game store you see, And make freinds with the staff at the stores. It pays off.
