View Full Version : What system do you have the most boxed games for?

Keir

For me, it's Atari 7800. I have 30 games for it and 26 are CIB (that's 87%!)

Second place would be Intellivision: 54 out of 78 boxed (69%)

EDIT: Got 2 more boxed 7800 games in the mail today! Updated numbers above.

Not counting any of my CD-rom based systems (Dreamcast 100%, PSX 100%, PS2 100%,)

I have 52 out of 90 genesis games boxed (58%)

Followed by Intellivision with 23 out of 46 (50%)

Well if I discount the C64 (cos almost all of my 1000+ collection is boxed and complete!), then erm... well the cartridge side of it still. Almost 200 of my collection (no idea how many offhand) is complete. Following that would be 7800, all my collection (which is finished bar 3 titles) is boxed with instructions. Just behind is SNES with 47 complete titles (yet another 100% thread)...

Im not really a collector who goes after complete, I am happy to have the games to play. Outside of new CD based systems I would say most of my complete games are NES, and then SNES

I'm only interested in complete games, so pretty much all my games are boxed. I don't collect for the older systems though.
I think I have 3 loose games for the megadrive (out of 90), 1 for the saturn (out of 180), 1 for the snes (out of 3) and one for the master system (out of 40) and that's it!

Not counting CD based systems (which all fall above 90%)...

I'd say that SMS, GBA, and VB are highest at 98% (about). I made it a point to get those all boxed....

Well, 7800 is 100%, sealed too, but I don't even count it because I don't have a system....

And SNES, Genesis, and NES all are about that same at 60-70% each, but they vary in overall size, SNES, Genesis, and NES in that order of amount of games.

5200 is dead last at about 40-50%. Definitely not a concern completewise.

Hmmm.. I guess I should have specified "classic cart-based" games or something. I actually have 6 GBA games all 100% complete but I wasn't counting that. Oh well, whatever you want to count is fine with me. This isn't scientific or anything.

Cart based: Genesis, weighing in at 62 boxed (but a few are missing manuals).

CD based: PSX at 83 titles all mint complete

Genesis, somewhere around 60 games, all of them at least boxed, 99% complete.

NES, about 60 games again, about 50 complete, so about 83% complete.

SNES, about 40 games, 35 complete, so 88% complete.

Most boxes for a system,

Genesis at 163 of 213 boxed

Highest % of boxed games wuold be

SMS at 98.8% ;) I have 84 games with 83 boxed.

System I'm most proud of would be my Atari 5200

64 out 74 titles are boxed. 3 are homebrews/repos, which didn't have boxes to begin with. So I'm missing 7 boxes total. And 3 of those are commons, Football, Baseball, Mario Bros, so I will have a complete collection soon!

From there it drops down pretty low. Maybe half my 7800 games are boxed. Although I have close to 200 PSX/DC/PS2/GC all boxed, but not alot of cart systems.

Well, I have a pretty good NES collection going. About 400+ boxed and complete, but 80 or so of those are sealed. Maybe 30 sega masters, 20 genesis, 30 INTV, 60 Atari 2600, 10 7800, 20 SNES(most are sealed) 15 psx and a couple coleco games. Half of the NES games I bought from a video store that was going out of business about seven years ago. I didnt have enough money to buy all of them(about 600), but I did buy about 250 from him for $5 a piece. A steal, really. I tried to contact him to get the rest but he was gone by then. I must say I'm very proud of my accomplishments in game collecting thus far.

Tempest
01-24-2003, 04:01 PM
I'd say 7800 since I have a compelete collection (minus Rampage) and I'm only missing 3 boxes.

5200 comes in a close second. I also have a complete collection (minus BBSB) and I'm only missing 6 boxes.

Genesis. I've got a little over 300 games with 200 or so boxed. Fewest would be NES. I've got over 400 games and about 50 boxes.

wow, what a good subject:

VCS: 300 carts, 270 boxed
Lynx: 72 carts, 70 boxed (California Games came with system, so no box, Bubble Trouble came without box from Telegames (UK))
7800: 58 boxed games
Jaguar: 43 boxed games (Cybermorph came unboxed with system, I stole an empty box from a computer and console show in London)
Odyssey: 10 boxed games from the 1972 and 1973 range. 9 unboxed games (system games, Percepts, Rifle games)
NES: 17 boxed games
SNES: 13 boxed games, 2 unboxed games
N64: 5 boxed games
VB: 9 boxed games, 2 unboxed game
GB/GBC/GBA: 45 boxed games
SMS: 21 boxed games
MD: 34 boxed games
Saturn: 5 boxed games
DC: 41 boxed games
GG: 32 boxed games
+ many Atari, C-64, ST, Amiga, PC, MAC games, all boxed

I try not to collect unboxed games, only if impossible like some VCS carts. I guess my collection would be much bigger with unboxed games

Well without figuring up percentages, these are the ones I think would be the highest.

5200: 44 of 73 (complete collection less the BASIC homebrews)
7800: 54 of 57 (all games)
Jaguar: 59 - all boxed (all original releases)
Genesis: 446 of 499
NES: 290 of 772
O2: 39 of 51
Saturn: 176 - all boxed
SMS: 135 - all boxed (all but 2 US titles)
SNES: 146 of 402

I'm going to guess here. I'd say that 80/110 Intellivision games are boxed, 50/65 SMS carts are boxed, and about 35/42 7800 games are boxed. 26/27 Lynx carts and boxed, and about 30/39 Jag games are boxed.

NES: about 30% (I have over 200 boxes but some are for games I don't have)
Virtualboy: 100%
Sega Master System: 99% (2 games are w/o box)
Genesis: 99% (100% if I ever find a Starflight box >:( )
Turbografx-16: 95% (got 6 Hucard game w/o case for free some years ago)
N64: 100% (All I got are brand new anyway)
GBA: 100%
Jaguar: 80% (need a Cybermorph box to make it 100%)
Intellivision: about 90% (I have about 2 dozen loose carts but most are dups)

All other cart based system are about 20% or less with Fairchild Channel F at 0 (one cart #9 IIRC, no box)

All CD are 100% (TurboCD, Sega CD, Saturn, DC, PSX,PS2, and GC) since I buy only complete. Actually, my Sega CD is 120% (I have 2 Sonic CD but only 1 game disc)

I'm not going to fo computer games as I got over 1,000 C64 games. But counting only the carts and good disk gamesI think I'm close to 90%

PS2 - 100%
GCN - 100%
Atari VCS - 1 game (but it's Pitfall)
Atari Jaguar - 50% (I only had 4 games. But the boxed ones are Rayman and Tempest 2k)

Out of the 20 or so systems I own, all of them have 100% boxed games except for: NES, Atari 2600, Sega Game Gear and ColecoVision. From these 4 systems, less than a quarter of games are unboxed. You gotta shop around and you'll eventually find the games you want in good condition. Thumbs down to those who throw out the boxes when you buy games - those boxes will be worth a lot in the future -- bad move.

beside the newer systems PS1 and up probably the Genesis because their easy to come by. But I have moce Cube and DC games than Genesis so I actually have more complete Cube and DC games but its too easy to find those games complete. So I have to say Genesis followed by Neo Geo Pocket.

Out of my classic systems, I haven't worried about collecting complete games at all, but pick up the boxes whenever possible. I have about 30 out of my 75 or so Genesis games complete (or near complete, missind advertisements) in the box. I have 4 or 5 SNES in the box out of about 30 games (including Chrono Trigger), 10 out of 40 NES games and all three of my 7800 games are in the box. (Sadly, I don't yet have a 7800 system. I'm working pretty well on a complete complete NGPC collection... about 20 complete games so far for it, which is nice considering how hard they are to find complete of late.

Virtual Boy, all but Wario Land that I own is complete, but I only have seven games. Still, a complete Nester's Funky Bowling is always good :D

Genesis is around 42 boxed/complete and 7 loose.

SNES is low, only about 4 complete. If you separate Super Famicom then I have a whopping 5/5 complete :D

that's pretty much it for the cart systems.

Of my cartridge-based games, probably the Atari 5200...it used to be the SNES but then I got rid of all my boxes for those. I decided that, since I'd never sell any of my SNES games, I really wouldn't need the boxes and I could store them more efficiently without them.

Of my CD-based games, if you count the CD "jewel boxes" as boxes, then it would be the original Playstation games...I have around 200 of them.

SNES...I have about 100 games and about 40 of them are boxed. About 35 of those boxed games are complete with the booklet. I have the booklets to about 50 of my SNES games.

NES...I have about 200 games and 35 of them are boxed. About 20 of those are complete with the booklet. I have the booklets for about 40 of my NES games.

N64...I have 30 N64 games and 100% of them are complete with the box and booklet. :)

All my PSX, PS2, GameCube, Saturn, Dreamcast games are complete with the original case and booklet.

As for my other systems...most all the games for those are loose with a few boxes and booklets...but not enough to make it worth mentioning.
