It said something about triangle and square when loading? When do I press/hold these buttons down, when I turn the console on? Do I have to do it every time I play or is it a one time deal that gets saved?

I don't remember for sure, but I thought it asks you when you start a new game and you set up all your preferences and options.
In KOF 2k3 its I hold the button after the PLaystation logo appears.

It asked aspect ratio, and then said to enable progressive scan as well, hold triangle and square...something something... but I had already pressed past it before I finished reading (wrong button press)
