Hi,
a guy I know got this box from a flea market. The cartridge inside was Mario64, which seems kind of odd seeing that there are Rogue Squadron pics on the back cover and the front is well, you see it....

Thanks alot...
That's neat....never seen one before. I'd hazard a guess and say that judging by the language mix on the back it's simply a European box from some sort of promo that happened to have Mario in it by mistake.
Cool though......I love the angst-ridden kid on the front. Chew on an N64 controller and break your teeth.

Hello
This is my first post, but I've been reading you and learning a lot for a long time.
At last, I can help !
I can say for sure it's a Belgian box. But of course, not a regular one. These are Belgian newspapers, TV and radio stations on the right. So, it's either a promo (but I live in Belgium, have been an N64 owner since its launch, and don't remember it) or a competition prize.
It's indeed odd the game inside doesn't match what's on the back of the box. But maybe the seller simply put the wrong cartridge inside, or needed a box for his loose Super Mario 64.

There should be a nintendo part number (letters actually) on one of the four smaller flaps that are at both box openings. I would compare that with the cart. With NTSC games here in the US, the box, manual and game all have the same one.

Wow, Captain..it's cool a Belgian was reading to be able to identify! Welcome aboard the USS DP.

Thanks !
As I said, I've been reading the boards regularly for a few weeks, but my knowledge being limited, this is my first opportunity to contribute.
I guess I'll just introduce myself in the appropriate topic.

Wow thats pretty cool indeed, I don't really have much helpful info to share. But just thought I'd mention it's a pretty cool find and I've never seen it before(this coming from an N64 owner since around launch and collector).
Congrats. ;)

Thanks for your help Jean-Luc Picardchu! :D
Will let the owner know what you told me here and ask him regarding the part numbers.
Thanks again! :)

On the back of the box the "Nintendo Expert Club" is mentioned with a phone number...maybe try calling that number and see if they have more info ;)
Also, it says "Defeat the Dark Side; Release January '99" on the back...I assume this would mean that the Rogue Squadron box and screenshots on the back are meant as an advertisement rather than description of what's inside...hence it is still very much possible that the box did belong to the Mario cartridge.

It doesn't exist anymore. It was just an overpriced phone number to reach Nintendo game councellors. I don't think it would be useful to call these sponsors, as they must have forgotten all about it.
But if there's small text in French on the box that could be a clue, I would be happy to translate

god damn that kid is ugly. Whats even weirder is that it looks like they took a 35 year old guy and tried to make him look like a young teen by putting sunglasses on his head.

That kid looks more like he's puking on the controller than biting it...did anyone notice he's also performing cunninlingus on its expansion slot? Sick. I guess they really do want games to replace human contact.

The truth is never too far...
I found the exact same box while browsing eBay tonight. It indeed contained Super Mario 64 and a promotional video tape. The seller says it was a competion prize in the late nineties.
