My guess would be that he's building an NES PC. You could probably buy a cheap working one and sell off the innards to someone and recoup some of the cost.

I have a broken one, and I'm pretty sure it's much more busted than this guy's. LOL
Here's what my NES has:
It doesn't load any games anymore;
The RFSwitch plug doesn't work unless you push down on it with something heavy;
The AC Adapter cable (right next to the block) won't work unless you hold it in a certain way);
The Ch3/4 switch is busted and actually outputs to Channel 3 and 2(partially!)
If you're interested in mine, I can throw in whatever pads I find. LOL PM me if you want it.

I'd take $5 plus S&H for a non-functional unit. I have about 3 or 4 of them.
