Today I was out cruising the stores when I went to Gamestop and found the Pelican system selector pro price dropped to 49.99.
I found out just by chance because the sticker on the other one was 79.99. The original price was 99.99.
I have been waiting for the price to drop because this model has optical inputs components as well as ethernet and because the new era of next gen systems are upon us.
I went home disconnected my old one and hooked it up and was blown away by the increase in resolution and sound.
I dont know what I have been doing all this time but seeing what I am seeing now I would have gladly paid 79.99 for these results. I was ready to upgrade my tv before this I am glad I waited.
This definately proves to me that all selectors are not equal.
I know some people with the Pelican system selector pro already might say no big deal but those moving from the older gamestop or interact model will notice a difference.
I wonder if the electronics in this system selector amplifies the signal so the signal strength doesn't degrade.
Last but not least I have 7 systems hooked up to it with room for one more and all pictures look sharp.
I am definetly going to get another one as backup.
Just thought I would share this in case someone was waiting for the price drop too.

Woah, no remote? Seriously, that would be the selling feature for me. I have a cheapo pelican one and the quality is just fine--I just hate having to get up to switch from PS2 to DVD player.

Don't forget they also have network jacks -- handy for cabling up your Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube all at once.

I've had a Pelican System Selector Pro since I got my HDTV last year. VERY nice, and worth the $80 I paid for it. It has PLENTY of plugs and ports, enough to hook up numerous systems.

A selector with a programable universal remote... yeah... I'd buy that in 2 clock cycles! Hey, I'm an American damn it! I refuse to get up to change the channel, volume, device or what-have-you. That totally ruins the enjoyment of my sedintary activity. Plus, I might accidentally burn a calorie. :D

the new pelican system selector revision includes a remote.

Available at best buy.

Hrmm... I haven't seen the new revision of it. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. Any idea if the price is still $99 on the new one?

Anyway, if anyone else sees this selector for $50 at their local GameStop, pick it up ASAP. They're well worth the $99 original price and GameStop won't be replenishing their stock on these items (marked as delisted).

The Pelican looks good. But, since I'm not too sure about its availability in the UK, it might be worth checking out Joytech's AV Control Center. Incidentally, you can read my impressions of it here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65794).

I need another one too. I need two at least.

Everyone check your neck of the woods and post pricing. This is something we ALL can benefit from. Excellent product.

I picked up a backup system selector today.

Gamestop is running a trade in special trade 2 games xtra 20% 3 xtra 30% 4 xtra 40%

I traded in a few games. The hardest one to lose was devil may cry 3 but I can get that back. With some creative trade ins the deal is sweeter.

I am actually waiting for the Joytech AV Control Center to be available in the US.

They showed a US model during E3, but no word yet on the release date.

Paid $100 for mine and it has been worth every penny... :) I only wish it would have come with more generic buttons or even better if I could get some buttons with retro game systems labeled on them.

Yeah, I need another Pelican SS Pro myself. I just hooked up the last one I got the other day...still don't have enough ports! :D

If it had a remote, I'd happily lay out $100+ for one....
